All turbo upgrades require a remap to get the upgraded benefit depending on your choices with the map will depend on the life of your engine.

Thank you chap I have knowledge of this, what the best turbo

You can get oem from Germany there not so cheap about £600 or you can get 1 from China on eBay for around £150 with the gaskets Chinese turbos are upgraded a lot and make the car very quick when remapped ( I have 1.8t20v Passat with 1 on. Higher boost pressure more strain on engine I wouldn’t go above 10-15 percent. Make sure you feed oil into the turbo prior to fitting or you will damage it when it runs dry for a few seconds till oil reaches it. I’d also make sure you change the inter cooler so your old doesn’t contaminate new turbo and prevent veins from operating properly. Hope this helps mate

It’s a diesel could be many issues could be injectors could be egr valve all chocked up ( most likely fault ) could also be cam or crank sensor bad maf sensor is stronglt recomend use of good diagnostic equipment. To save lots of time and point you in the right direction. Could also be fuel pressure regulator. Just looked back it’s a 2008 it’s more likely to be dpf filter. And or egr valve hope this helps

I've been told by two garages that it's tge Turbo Pump exhaust fan which is the problem and that the Turbo needs to be replaced. They sounded quite convincing.

Failure when speeding up SolvedSolved

Volkswagen Passat 2008  114000 miles
I have a Passat 2.0 turbo 2008 and the other day, when speeding up to overtake a car, the car failed. I then reduced the speed and went on driving properly. But every time I went over 60 mph, the same failure appeared. I would appreciate your help.

The problem has been solved. It were coils numbers 2 and 4 that were damaged, they were replaced and the problem disappeared. Hope my experience can help someone.
