Car starts perfectly. But the dash where it said P R N D 432 will sometimes light up all the letters and numbers instead of just one of them ,and it will just go in Reverse making a clacking noise but when you put in Drive it will not go forward making a not so good noise. Then other sometimes it will work fine. Took it to a mechanic who put on electronic device on it and the diagnosic was transmission intermitten what does this mean.

I have a Passat and it has transmission failures. Suddenly, it started making sharp changes from D to R and it stopped showing the speed on the dashboard. Even more, when starting in D, it is hard for it to start working properly, it needs to be highly accelerated and even manual gearing cannot be done.

So i recently got this well used Passat 2006 2. Ot Fuel but the Immobilizer Active message display which wouldn't let the vehicle come on could drive a sane person insane. I notice this becomes very intermittent during the day time when the weather is high as it rarely happens in the mornings and evenings. A technician advises me to change ECU which i did , vehicle runs for 3 days displaying different incompatibility signs and finally parks up after 3 days. Now i am back to old ECU with very intermittent Mobilizer Active messages. Anyone has an idea how to manage this ?

Until four weeks ago, i would have rated my passat as one of the best,then during a mot, i was advised that the front tyres were going to need replacing. I replaced them two weeks ago fitting bridgestone 235 /45 / 17 to replace old michelins. As soon as they were fitted i noticed severe shuddering from the back end, with very uneven running back tyres goodyear 235 /45 /17, which seemed reasonably healthy. After having front tyres balanced for the second time, the problem refused to go away !! yesterday i consulted premier tyres, who said " simple you need new rear tyres !!! they were duly fitted, all the wheels rebalanced, and,guess what, problem is every bit as bad DOES IT SOUND LIKE SAWTOOTH ? if so what can i have done ??

When I attempt to drive/take off in 1st gear I am hearing a
Strange knocking noise,. Once I have picked up speed and changed to 2nd the noise is gone... No problem in selecting gears, just this noise. The other day when I was changing gear I found a vibration in the clutch pedal. Anybody any ideas as to what this might be. No warning lights etc on dash... The mouse started 2 days ago and I think it's staring to get worse.

I have been having some transmission failures. It started with a little jerk every time the automatic gear changed when warm. This jerks then became stronger and even sometimes, when changing from 3rd to 4th, it changed to 2nd or remained in Neutral. I've changed the gearbox oil but only five liters could be removed.

Transmission 5hp-19. The gearbox pan was hit and the oil level in it dropped. The box went into emergency mode. After reading the error "4th gear clutch slip" and resetting the error, the gearbox went out of emergency mode. Now sometimes the gearbox disappears on the move, the revs are increasing, but the car is not picking up speed in any of the gears. But the speedometer is increasing, as if the car is moving.

Vehicle just wouldn't start. Had dash lights and radio. Towed to the dealership and it took them one week to figure out what was wrong with it.
Lost the cooling fan for the transmission. The epc light is now on.

I'm just wondering would a gearbox out of a vw caddy with the engine code bxe,fit my Passat engine code bxe??

When cold, speed can be perfectly changed. When warm, the first thing that starts failing is the first gear. It feels really heavy and stuck. I was told it might be a gearshift problem

A scraping sound comes from the right wheel when the steering wheel is turned all the way to the left. The car sat in a garage for a long time under the previous owner. Sometimes, the noise also occurs when driving slowly on a straight road. The mechanic said it could be a transmission or bearing issue. What do you think the problem is? Please help...

Automatic gearbox, whenever you give it too much gas when it wants to shift, it enables emergency mode, and limps. Only way to “fix” it, is to restart the engine. Bought new gearboxes, turbos, injectors and nothing works. Ecu also doesnt show any errors.

Have a 2012 VW Passat TDI SE with 194k miles on it. I just ran into another issue with it not wanting to start with the DPF light and flashing glow plug light only on while turning over the engine. When it does want to start after 5 or 6 tries, the lights go away. And sometimes it will start and then immediately die, or it will start and drive with no issues, or it will not start at all and just keep turning over. Hello... I have small concern about my vehicle, it is 2015 VW Passat 1.8L 4 door TSI model... I hear a noise ( hising ) every time when accelerating and when it comes between 1500 -2000 RPM ( don’t know is this amount ok )...Vehicle does not lose any power, one other related sound coming from engine or vehicle... No check engine light or even no any codes from OBD reader...

I changed my brake rotors and pads ever since then my car shows ABS lights, TPMS and Airbag lights on my dash. When i scanned with OBD scanner it shows rear right speed sensor fault so i changed it with a brand new one directly from VW and the lights are still on. Anyone have any clue on how to fix it? Hello everyone! I had a problem with the clutch: it stuck to the floor. I went to the mechanic and changed the clutch pump, the problem appeared again, only the clutch stuck to the floor only on the fourth or fifth start. I then changed the gearbox piston. I have this VW Passat that will not shift gear when parked in the sun. Every morning, the gear will change normally and can drive more than 300km as long as the ignition is not switched off.
If the ignition is off and the car is parked for 15 mins and above in the sun, the car will not change gear again until the following morning. When it is working normally, no fault code will be displayed using OBD II machine but when the gear refuses to change from 1, the fault code will display ABS /Brake Control Module with VW 01316 as its code. I need help and it's urgent.
