Honda Civic 2005 150000 miles
Suddenly many functions stopped working: the alarm is out of order, the door locks do not respond to their button, the interior light turns on at any moment, the hybrid system seems to be always discharged, leds from the gears flicker, the entrance for the scanner doens't work and even the stereo turns off. There are no burnt fuses, any idea what it may be?

Open the hood or bonnet and there you will find some other fuses. There is one called "backup" or something similar. That one usually burns out.

Thank you earnest. Checked that and the problem is: fuse that I introduce, it is burnt out.

You must have a short circuit in the wiring. Is there something you have recently installed on your car? That could be the cause.

The last installation was the scanner and it is not working since then. The short circuit could be in its plug, right earnest?

Most probably. You should check whether it is damaged or shorted, otherwise you'll have to change the scanner connector.

While driving on the freeway I noticed the engine light was blinking, but only three blinks then a pause of about 20 seconds then 3 more blinks. At that point I had been driving a total of about 7 minutes. Roughly 4 off and 3 or so on the freeway. The car drove fine this whole time/ nothing to make me even think of the light coming on so I kept driving (about 15 more minutes home) knowing that it's not what's is suggested. After a long week of testing circuits and searching for a grounded wire somewhere I had the electrical hooked back up with just the alternator unhooked. Once I hooked that up it caused the voltage on the ground strap to rise and become stronger. So I replaced the alternator and that fixed the energized ground strap issue. I have an idle issue now along with strange driving conditions so I'm waiting to see if it throws a code for something failing. I've driven almost 200 miles though so I'm not sure if a code is going to be presented.

I just put a new battery in my LX and it still won't start. I listened for sounds, no clicks. All of the dash warning lights, headlights, radio, and even AC come on when I turn the key, but no vroom vroom. Strange thing is the hazards lights start blinking and won't go off, not even when I turn the car off. After wiggling the turn signal stick a little and pressing the hazard button in a few times it cuts off. But when I open the door of the car the hazards come on again, and are accompanied by ding ding sound like when door is ajar--even after door is shut. I was thinking electrical problem

It turns out that the previous owners had a type of after market alarm system that was also equipped with a type of fail start button installed in the car. So the car will only start after either the button is pushed or the alarm is disabled.

Start taking apart the driver door card by removing the mirror trim/ tweeter trim off, then pop the tab in the actual handle you’ll have screws under the plate and one in the window control / cubby handle further down the door card. There’s also another screw or two under the cubby after you remove the screw and pop the cubby out . Remove those and then behind to pop your door card off at the edges where it meets the door frame. After that’s popped you just have to pull it up out of the window track where it clips and your doors now torn open. This part is easy, grab your key and I’m assuming you can force it into the lock as I did mine. Spray wd40 on the lock mechanism and let sit for 5-however long makes you happy. Now enter or force the key into the lock and twist the key itself and the lock from the inside with your other hand this should free it up. If you can’t by hand grab the locking arm with a tool

Yesterday all those warnings came at the same time.
Windshield is clean, I putted gas LOL, turned off yesterday and turned on today
The car is clean, nothing is covering camera or sensor.
Drives fine, but those assistants are not working.
I saw other people in forums with the same issue but I didn't see how to resolve it, dealer doesn't say anything about it.

I've had this issue since the car was at 4k miles with minimal appearances, and it is now at 60k showing up everytime I drive over a small bump. Have not been able to find a resolution and dealers want to charge me 300 just to look at it.

Hi everyone. I want to buy an Honda Civic LX 2005 1.7, 4 doors. I would like it to last at least 5 years, does anyone know if this model resists long distances (300km nonstop) and around 8 hours of daily usage? Thank you for your advise.

I have that same car and it is a good one. Overheating has been my only problem, but its cause can vary from the radiator plug to the cylinder head gasket. Like with any other vehicle, if you have money for the service, there is a solution to every failure.
Thank you, vick28. I have already bought and tried it, and the only inconvenience I've found is on unpaved uphill roads. The car does not respond properly at low rpm, I need to speed it up in order to gain strenght, but on those roads high speeds are not possible. Has this ever happened to you?
Remember that these are cars designed for the city and long journeys due to its 1.7 engine. I have never driven it along an unpaved uphill road, but the best option would be to do it in L (Low) so that you do not force the engine.

Windows just stopped working. Have the driver side window rolled down a bit but can't go up or down. None of the windows seem to have power(?) Checked fuses all seem good.

I’m having the same issue. Checked all fuses , checked for broken wires, check the common ground. Change the DS switch and windows regulator. Confirmed power is getting to motor.
So far nothing. I haven't messed with it since getting the window up. We just powered the motor directly to the battery to get it up. Probably going to take it in to get it diagnosed.

Both front windows stopped working. I replaced the battery and the driver's side button panel, but the mechanic can't fix the electrical problem. Did you solve your problem? Can you help me? All the relays are OK and working properly.

So I bought this car off someone they said they lost the remote and had to have a key mad that bing said every time I open the door or turn car on the alarm is going off the lights keep flashing and the alarm light flashing so n dash also key will work to start car but won’t unlock the door how do I get the lights to stop flashing and to turn the alarm of without a remote and how to unlock the door Also won’t get out of park unless I press the override button

You will have to take it to a dealership and have the remote and alarm reset. You might also want a new remote key. It will not be cheap.

I have a 2009 civic with paint coming off, whitish on the roof by window. In 2 places, There was a recall a year or more ago for hood paint job but my car is fine there.

Remote starter stopped working on my Honda Civic. When I lock the car, the doors lock but the lights do not flash and the Honda answer-back feature does not respond. The anti-theft indicator on the dashboard does not blink after locking the car. The car starts normally with the push button and the key fob still locks and unlocks the doors. I already replaced the hood latch but the problem continues. I also had my key reprogrammed by Honda recently.

I recently added a new stereo and backup camera to my Civic. I got everything to work correctly, but today noticed that the wire attached to the reverse bulb had popped off. So earlier today, i started to redo wiring in the trunk for the backup camera. The key was in the ignition and I had the key set to ACC. This is where it begin. Then out of nowhere, the "door open" beep starts. I try to start the car, and its not working.
Current state:

Door Latch Replacement Help

I am trying to replace the passenger door latch on my car. They door got stuck closed and I finally got it open and the latch removed. My trouble is how to I attach it to the rear handle. I cannot screw it in and get the latch in and I am having a lot of trouble finding videos. The one video I found said to use plyers on the opposite side, but my smallest plyers have trouble getting into the door itself.

Electrical Problems

Took it to the body shop after getting T-boned, once I got it back many electrical components no longer worked, such as the AC does not blow hot or cold, power lock on works on the driver side doors, and only the driver window rolls down. I have checked all the fuses both under the hood and in the interior fuse box and none seem to be blown. All of these components worked before I took it to the shop.

Front windshield wiper not working

The problem started 2 years ago. I was going on a roadtrip and I was pushing my hatchy going 100. Battery ends up frying and when that happened, every single light and switch went crazy, including the wipers. Got a new one battery and ran on 3 cylinders. Came home week later and got everything fixed except the front windshield wipers. The back one does work. Now, if I put the fuse for the wiper, the front wipers will work but I cannot control it. It will just keep wiping unless I take the fuse out. Things I’ve tried:
