You will have to take it to a dealership and have the remote and alarm reset. You might also want a new remote key. It will not be cheap.

Hybrid Honda civic 2005 SolvedSolved

Honda Civic 2005  150000 miles
Suddenly many functions stopped working: the alarm is out of order, the door locks do not respond to their button, the interior light turns on at any moment, the hybrid system seems to be always discharged, leds from the gears flicker, the entrance for the scanner doens't work and even the stereo turns off. There are no burnt fuses, any idea what it may be?

Open the hood or bonnet and there you will find some other fuses. There is one called "backup" or something similar. That one usually burns out.
augie20 from United States 11 years ago
Thank you earnest. Checked that and the problem is: fuse that I introduce, it is burnt out.

You must have a short circuit in the wiring. Is there something you have recently installed on your car? That could be the cause.
augie20 from United States 11 years ago
The last installation was the scanner and it is not working since then. The short circuit could be in its plug, right earnest?
earnest from United States 11 years ago
Most probably. You should check whether it is damaged or shorted, otherwise you'll have to change the scanner connector.
augie20 from United States 11 years ago
You were right, there was a short circuit in the connector. Thanks for your help.

Current leaks through underhood fuse number 23

Honda Civic 2006 Coupe  173000 miles
My car is a 2006 Honda Civic 8 coupe from Canada. One day, it wouldn't start. I bought a new battery, but a couple of days later, the same thing happened again. I grabbed a multimeter I started looking for the problem. The generator produces 14V at idle and at 2000 RPM. I started checking for a current leak. I connected a multimeter between the battery and the ground terminal. I started disconnecting all the fuses. The leak was located on fuse number 23 under the hood. I pulled it out and checked what had stopped working: the radio and the alarm. I disconnected the radio, but the leak didn't g… Read complete

The Problem could be the poor ground connection 1)From battery to chassis 2)From chassis to Engine. Please look into it.

I'll try it a little later and write back. But does this create a constant current leakage of 0.42A?

Change the battery of the car remote. It might have low battery.

Perfect drama, most likely caused by key fob. Still thinking that it’s

Honda Civic 2018 Coupe 1.5t si 92615 miles
Sometimes key fob still says it’s in the car so the horn hawks and the alarm stays on causing a parasitic draw.

2016 Dash starts

Honda Civic 2016  80028 miles
I have been having issues with dead battery. Today the battery was dead again, this is a new battery. After charging the battery I drive it and powered it off. I sat in the car for around five minutes then all the sudden the dash powered back up on its own. So I started the car and turned it off and armed the alarm. About five minutes later the alarm went off, like someone was trying to start the car. Anyone have any idea of what can make the car try to start itself? I'm guessing that it is the engine start button but I don't know.

Alarm fob doesn’t unlock car

Honda Civic 2002 Si coupe 100000 miles
The key fob no longer unlocks vehicle. When trying to enter car with key, the alarm goes off. Can’t start car because it is immobilized. Then when I try to lock the car with the key, alarm can take up to 2 min for the alarm to stop screaming!

Earlier today. The radio was showing “code”. I called an authorized Honda dealer and they gave me a code to enter to enable the radio after the car went dead when lights were left on. It seemed to work.
Would this have effected and somehow messed with my alarm?
