Strong steering when it is turned

Whilst managing a gentle curve at about 85km an hour, the steering suddenly felt similar to driving without power steering and within a few seconds gave a bit of a jolt and came good again. Within 10 to 20 mins the same problem came up again but this time the right hand wheel seemed to jam or block and the tyre screeched. The electronics did not show any faults and the scan did not produce any error conditions.
