Hi, I am having problems with the Corolla 1.8 engine. I park my car with the rear end facing a wall and, every morning when I start the engine, there is a black stain in the wall. It seems as though burnt oil is coming out of the exhaust. There is also black fume when I speed the car up, and black ashes can be found in the exhaust. When I change the oil I leave it at its corresponding level but, after 15 days, almost half a liter is consumed. Only when I drive along a downhill road, it is white fume that comes out of the exhaust. Thanks to anyone that can give me a hand.

It is the valves' rubbers that are worn. You should change them as well as the spark plugs lid rubbers and your problem should be solved.

Your problem certainly is due to the valves' rubbers. Change them but be careful the place you choose for this to be done. I tell you this because of my personal experience. Good luck.

I had an oil change on it done 3 weeks back, the week after driving it I had to top it up with some oil, a lot of smoke comes out the exhaust pipe and the color is a light blue, the smell of chemicals and smoke come through the air vents when driving, car is not able to make a long distance drive. Not even close to a 6 hour drive it would break down

Emissions keep rising

After failing nct on emissions on my Toyota Corolla 1.13 new lambda sensor fitted & reconditioned catalytic convertor. Emissions shot up to 6.1, was my catalytic convertor better than the replacement ???
