Not starting - Only crank SolvedSolved

Volkswagen Polo 2008 hatchback - 1.4 90 miles
I have a very elusive issue with my car which I just can't seem to diagnose. :( My Polo 9n3 2008 1.4 randomly doesn't want to start anymore. When I turn the key the engine simply turns over and there is no click or buzzing noise from the fuel pump. The dash electronics function perfectly. I have removed the fuel pump and tested it, it works perfectly, however the cable powering it only measures 3.5v. The car battery measures 12v.

Hi all, I managed to solve the issue. It turns out the ECU was faulty and needed replacement due to the fact that the previous owner had replaced the original ECU which was not fully functional and therefore had to bypass the immobiliser to make it work. The bypassed issues in the ECU were then aggravated over time with exposure to heat and vibration and ultimately resulted in the need for complete replacement.
