Hi everyone, I have an automatic Cavalier 97 2.2 engine and my problem is that, when driving over 40 mph, the car starts having an accelerating failure: revolutions reach and go over 3000 per minute but the vehicle won't develop that speed. I need to reduce the speed until revolutions come back to normal, but again when I want to drive over 40 mph, the false acceleration appears. I've been told the cause of my problem can either be the gearbox or that the injectors are stuck or dirty. When the car loses power or it won't change gears, I need to stop the engine and start it again for it to work properly. Does anyone have an idea what can be happening to my car? Thanks.

Car engine bogs and stutters when pedal is pushed to the floor. Once or twice it has backfired and started to stall, caught itself and stutters and lacks power to gain speed.

Brake pedal is hard as a rock no power assist also car idles up & down and wants to stall. Scanner is getting p0300 and p0172 and p0180

03 Cavalier Ls Sport 2.2L Ecotech manual 5-Speed transmission. The car starts and drives But it is rough!! Idle is rough 1st gear to 5th gear it hesitates spits and sputters but it does go until I hit 70 mph and then it's beautiful it flies as if it's a brand new car that just came off the factory line, but it didn't and that's why I'm typing this!! So, this started only after a hard rain. It would run kind of like it was missing. Loud, no pickup or speed beyond 25 mph.Smell gas really strong. It finally quit starting altogether.

When driving and rpm reaches 3500 loses speed

The car will start up just fine, but once you rev the engine up it only registers to 500 rpm's & will not move. I have been told that it can be many different problems from small to large & trying to get some help to fixing the issue asap!

My 03 Cavalier only starts if I hold gas to the floor and let up when fires -Sometimes it idles but most times it's iratic checked spark and it looks like it's going backwards into the coil ?

In drive car runs hesitant in reverse car runs fine

The vehicle while in gear and hesitation occurs while driving and idle. And check engine light flashes also when the vehicle is in park these problems still occur. But the rpm is still normal. I have replaced the entire spark system. The ets light is on next to flashing check engine light.

Hi everyone i have a 95 cavalier. We have to jump start it one its running and we push on the gas it bogs out/backfires.
