Check your fuel pump driver module...usually located on the frame above the spare tire. Aluminum bolted to steal and we'll the rest is self explanatory. That's what mine looked like when I pulled it off my 2008 f150 XLT 5.4L. Replaced it and I'm back in business...Good luck

Od light flashing and transmission fault

Ford F-150 2006 F150 xl 4.2 liter rwd 169000 miles
I took my k&n air filter out and cleaned it with soap and water and only let it dry about 5 hours I used the dryer to try to dry it out and then when I put it back in and drove my truck it started driving crazy and the OD light started flashing and it said transmission fault and when I would push the gas it would hesitate the next day when I got in it no OD light was flashing no transmission fault code but when my truck got to run in temperature it will start kind of hesitating and it's been doing that ever since it runs fine when I first start it but no more light and no more transmission fault on the gauge it's not saying that anymore it's just when it gets to running temperature it starts running rough and it's gradually getting worse and worse I don't know what it could be

Battery drain SolvedSolved

Ford F-150 2011 Super Crew/5.0L Flex V8 191720 miles
Battery drain, I can put in a new fully charged battery in use the truck for a couple of days as normal. Normal driving distance is less than 60 miles to and from my work site and to a few other places through out the day. By 3rd morning I have to use a jump starter to start the truck. The truck starts fine through out the day. The next morning I have to use jump starter again. I've checked relays, replaced some old cracked fuses in the engine fuse box, disconnected a reese tow unit that I don't use anyways. Found a faulty wiring harness in the left rear driver door, replaced that also. I've not had time with work, and the horrible weather to do much on checking all of the fuses.

Update, worked on blower speed problem. Pulled and tested blower motor and speed selector resistor controller. Controller is defective. Been testing all afternoon, the truck starts, on a very weak battery, sometimes it takes a few tries and a couple minutes of waiting and it starts.
Henry from United States 2 years ago
Put a new controller on, however, it was not new. Got some bad controller that someone returned as good. The store clerks didn't check the return. However, they did swap with me. Got a good controller but have a truck that doesn't start. Waiting for warm days. The drain isn't my blower or temp controller. I think it is the starter or starter ground.
Johnnybjohnny from United States 2 years ago
Similar problem. Everything off yet the blower motor still works without keys and dash gauges move up and down as well as the odometer comes on and off. It like there are current spikes happening. Drains battery within about 3 hours have to jump start it.
Henry from United States 2 years ago
That sounds like a relay locked on for the blower. The rest sounds like loose or bad grounds. Check all ground points you can see, and rust, or corrosion wires clean off. With these new trucks could be anything. I saw one ford with a drain that was bad. The exterior lights, and headlights would come on by themselves intermittently and it was corrosion on two pins in a wire harness not being used inside the dash.
Johnnybjohnny from United States 2 years ago
@HenryThank you for the reply. I’ll see what I can do.

New Problem - no start, battery good. Truck will start if leave key in ignition for a minute or two and then it cranks. Replaced starter, original starter, badly rusted. Starter had 192K on it. This has the no start issue. Going to swap around relays for starter, and planning on replacing FPDM in rear. Starter was not easy to replace.

Henry from United States a year ago
Issue with Battery Drain, and fail to crank until after a few minutes with key in ignition. Battery Drain was two items - Rusted Starter - Replaced.
Fail to Crank - was Transmissions Shifter Position Sensor. The shifter sensor on the 5.0 V8 Flex is in the transmission. The sensor was failing, and telling the computer that the truck was already in gear. Cars in gear will not start. Cars in Park or Neutral will start. I was told there was something known about this in Ford Tech bulletin or service manual. It would be simple for them to print it in the owners manual.
Steel from United States 10 months ago
Same issue, but I dont get three days, usually overnight. I did notice that when in Park the P is not orange like all other gears. I was told PCM board, faulty transmission cable either at the top of transmission or in the steering column.

There could be a number of reasons why this is occurring, and it will be necessary to diagnose the problem to determine the cause.
One potential cause could be a problem with the starter motor. If the starter motor is not functioning properly, it could cause the engine to not crank when the key is turned.
Another potential cause could be a problem with the starter relay. The starter relay is responsible for supplying power to the starter motor, and if it is not functioning properly, it could cause the starter motor to not engage when the key is turned.
It is also possible that there could be a problem with the ignition switch or the wiring for the starter system. If the ignition switch is not functioning properly, or if the wiring for the starter system is damaged or corroded, it could cause the engine to not crank when the key is turned.
I recommend having a mechanic diagnose the issue to determine the cause and recommend the appropriate repairs. They will be able to test the starter motor, starter relay, ignition switch, and the wiring for the starter system to identify any problems and make the necessary repairs.

Starting system fault no start

Ford F-150 2011 3.5L ecoboost 120000 miles
Put key in ignition and have power for dash etc but when try to start nothing happens. No crank at all. Starting system fault shows up,as well as advanced trac, brake system and oil change warning. The latter codes randomly showed up one day when driving. The starting system fault appeared when just sitting , not running, while trying to charge old battery. The battery said full and I tried starting it and fault appeared. Both factory keys/ fob do the same. I have a new battery ( did it on old battery too) I have tried disconnecting/ reconnecting battery. Have checked the fuses interior and in power distribution box as well as the ignition relay. Have made sure the connection in the inside fuse box is good. I have run out of things to check. Could it be pcm relay?

Battery and Radio issues...

Ford F-150 2012 F150 XLT 6.2L V8 178549 miles
1st my radio just quit one day few months back. Fuses are fine, according to repair shop radio is perfect, wiring perfect. They don't know what happened and I wasn't replacing my radio because I want music for over 900$. Then today(June 2022) my battery indicator light popped on, then five minutes later it popped off. Alternator fine, battery only a year old and reads fine, checked cables connecting battery and all are tight and where they are supposed to be. I cannot figure out why my battery light is popping on. And as far as I can tell while driving I am not losing power. 2012 f150 xlt with almost 200k miles and now everything wants to start going wrong. Any suggestions on what else I should check for battery issues and radio issues since everything seems to be checking out perfect?

Wrench icon intermittently with increase in the rpms ,then kicks

Ford F-150 2012 Extended cab 150000 miles
Past fee days wrench icon has come on 2 or 3 times outta nowhere, when that's happened there's an instant increase in the rpms, just lasts for a second and then there's a kick, like a shifting kick, and then it's good again for a while. Could this be something as simple as transmission fluid needing drained and putting new, or something as serious as transmission starting to go to crap. Not throwing any codes yet...knock on wood. Also here in there have odd situations with a fuse or 2 blowing for no reason or bulbs breaking...the only fuses and bulbs this happens with is the radio fuse and the li… Read complete

Wires going to solonoid
