Opel Astra 2012 Hatchback, manual 93205 miles
Hello, I have a 2012 Opel astra 1.4t. When starting up my car it makes this cluncking/grinding noise…it only happens when warm not on a cold start. Can’t quite figure out what it is, any help is appreciated thank you

Yeah, previous battery was too small so got a new battery with more cca (cold cranking amps). Fixed her right up. Do a quick google search to see what battery is right for your car. If you have the correct battery I reckon go to a car battery shop and get their recommendation on upsizing

For some time now, I have had problems with the car’s air conditioner, and there is an annoying noise due to the high engine noise. What is the reason for the high engine noise? The car runs on diesel.

Idle speed failure
Opel Astra 1997 140000 miles
Quite recently, my Opel Astra 1997 started failing at idle speed; it needs to be accelerated continuously so that the engine does not stall. The IAC valve has been replaced and the computer reset as it was indicated, but the problem remained. The vehicle was then scanned and the MAP valve replaced, and the warning that indicated an engine failure on the control panel disappeared. However, the engine has still got some strange and rough noises; it seems as if it purred. I really do not know what caused the problem or what the definite solution might be.

I have the same problem with an Opel cosa 1.4 and I also changed the IAC valve and the MAP sensor.
Hi, Scottie. I finally solved my problem by changing the ignition module, but I recommend you to check as well the oil filter and spark plugs, which usually get dirty or damaged with time and usage. The Opel cars have a complex electric system, so I also recommend you to take it to an specialist for it to be checked. Hope it helps and good luck.
