Died while passing another car the radio center console turned off at first all other power stayed on AC etc. rolled to a stop. Tried to restart heard the starter click at first but then nothing. Got it towed home tried to move the crank shaft with everything still attached plugs still in it moves hard to move like that but I can move it. When it first died I could smell a faint electric smell . There is a clicking noise that comes from the fuse box area under the hood . Clicking is not the starter solenoid. Charged battery 12.6 on the volt meter took the exhaust manifold off starter has 12.6volts going to it but it is not engaging I still feel that it is some thing else since the car just died and didnt turn over .
Starter died when trying to start the car after it died . The motor is locked up I can still turn it but takes everything I got to move it a little bit . New starter could not turn it over
When starting the car, the engine does not respond, and when checking with the detection device, the code P1690 appears, and when trying to identify the key code, it gives a failure to connect to the PCM
This happens to me as well. I fix it by putting the vehicle in neutral and pushing it either forward or backwards about a foot. Place back in park and it starts up. I have never checked codes.
look for the cover on your console that is small enough to insert sa screwdriver and gently pop it open . looking it with a small light and you will see a release that will free the shifter it wont fix the problem but it will allow you to move it into park
So Randomly doesn't start sometimes keep trying and eventually does. No codes reading, not alternator, battery, starter, and when turning key all windows, display, lights, radio ect have power. To them and keyfob battery and key new. ( have original and new key same issue)
Had the same problem for about two months. Replaced battery, fuel pump and relays. Found out crank sensor had gone bad and will not set codes immediately. Replaced crank sensor and never had an issue again.
At the beggining, it started stalling when travelling long distances. But, a week later, it started being more and more frequent and now it won't start. The scanner indicates a code which talks about high speeds and a short circuit. I would appreciate your help.
I recommend you to check the flow and the turning sensor of your vehicle. If this is damaged, it causes the car to stall. Try first cleaning them with an appropiate cleaner for electrical pieces, disconnecting the battery for half an hour, connecting it back and only then giving it a try.
Engine does not shut down even key is pulled offend ignition lights stay on even engine shut form releybox if fuse 17 is taken out engine shuts and ignition light shut normally. When fuse is pushed in problem return. Ignition switch changed. Battery is OK
Still unsolved bus tome progress... fuse 17 removal "corrected" partly when taken off. Engine stars and shuts of normally and warming lights turn of when key removed. There must be other + line somewhere feeding back and keepin ignition on still do not know what. Next I remove the the boot panes to see if there is astra relay broken? very strange. Check the plug and removed all wires from it. So still struggling Cheers
Hi I have just bought a hyundai santa fe crdi 2011 automatic transmission my problem is the car was ok for the past 2 months until last Saturday when it suddenly failed to start I called in a mechanic he managed to start the car and he advised me to buy glow plugs which I did and the problem is still not solved any advise will help and thank you in advance.
I remember one Hyundai about 20 years ago Wow doesn’t seem to be that long ago till I say 20 years ago, that had a kill switch under the dashboard on the right side of the steering wheel. If that wasn’t pushed ya weren’t going
I had this issue. The steering lock motor had worn out and so wouldn't disengage when I tried to start the car. Had to get it towed and have a lock emulator installed.
The Diagnostic results from auto zone states that ALL cylinders are misfiring. I replaced the spark plugs, wires, & coil packs all within the past 6-8 months ago. I have recently noticed a small amount of engine oil inside the spark plugs compartment. I was told it sojnds like the intake Manifold gaskets & rings. Will that fix the issue of it running poorly? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Lights come on but the car won’t crank. The key was left on for an extended period of time & when I tried to crank it it wouldn’t start. Checked relay fuses, key Fob battery. Battery terminals. Bypassed starter relay.
