I had a serious problem with my honda accord ex-l, 2014. While i was driving, my car showed an error message on the dash panel. It said "system failed", and the dash functions became paralyzed. Smoke started coming from the hood. In a few minutes, the front part of the car was in flames. Most of the car was burned.

Just made a left turn out of my development and was driving down the road when the driver and passenger airbags deployed. Due to the smoke i could no longer see and the car hit a tree on the right side of the road and the rest of the airbags deployed..... Updated 06/30/15 *bf

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 honda accord. The contact stated that while driving at a low speed, another vehicle failed to yield and the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The front passenger side air bag deployed and a smokey substance emitted; however, the driver side air bag failed to deploy. The contact sustained neck, right shoulder, and arm injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to an auto body shop for repair. It was a main road that was recently repaved. It is a main road. It is asphalt. I was driving at night. It had rained all day but was not raining at the time of crash. There is traffic on this main road so i was going about 25 miles per hour. Suddenly the car accelerated and went right. I hit a parked car and my car flipped over. I was cut out of the car and taken to the hospital. I have cuts and bruises but i am otherwise ok. The airbags worked. What i am concerned about are the tires. Original equipment goodyear eagles. Gas light came on 11.01. 14, check book stated check gas cap and tighten which i did. Driving on highway next day and car made loud sound lots of smoke coming from under hood. I pulled over and call tow truck, vehicle taken to repair shop. He check oil stated that it was 3 quarts low, after further investigation it was shown that engine blown. I contacted honda waiting a response. *tr

My accord is using a quart of oil about every 1500 - 2000 miles and more than 2 quarts every 3000 miles. There is no oil dripping on the floor and the engine is clean; however, there is no blue smoke coming out of the tail pipe. I am aware of a federal class action lawsuit and have also read that honda did acknowledge a problem (quietly) in 2011. I will be contacting honda tomorrow to hear what they say. *tr

Driving on highway at 55 mpg noticed vibration coming from engine. Felt like engine mounts had failed. When i pulled into our home driveway it felt like i was driving a diesel powered car. I noticed oil light glowing. Checked oil level, nothing showed on dip stick. Under 3000 miles since last oil check. Took to dealer and complained. Checked for oil leaks-none. The fire department was notified and they extinguished the fire. The vehicle was destroyed. The insurance company contacted the dealer and the contact was awaiting an investigation. 2009 honda accord ex v6 has numerous problems at 130k... Most originating at 70-90k. Excessive oil consumption (1 qt a week)! rough idle and acceleration, 6 lights lit up on dash, including check engine... Comes on and off intermittently.....
