Hope someone can help me. I own an automatic Jetta 2001 and it was working properly until suddenly, one day, it wouldn't start again. The engine runs but there is no way it can be started. The fuel pump's pressure has been checked, the coil replaced as there were no sparks in the spark plugs, but the problem is still there. All fuses are alright as well as the crankshaft's sensor. The acceleration body has been cleaned and the battery replaced. Can the stereo have something to do? Because it is indicating SAFE 0000, meaning that the car is blocked? Can someone please tell me what to do?
After many attempts at trying to solve the same problem you are now having with my Jetta 2001, one day I found out that the temperature's sensor, through which the cooling liquid runs, had oil in its exterior. It was dirty due to a previous tuning, so I removed the connector to clean it and the failure disappeared. I really don't know how this can affect the starting, but I cleaned certainly deeply that connector, which has 4 pins, and the vehicle started as if nothing had happened. I then bought the sensor and the problem was finally solved.
Thank you, siller for reading and sharing your experience. After trying different things, I myself removed the crankshaft's sensor, took it to a good electrician and he said it was not working properly. I then bought a new one, installed it and it finally started.
Went out to start the car and no crank and no start ,no lights on the dash or nothing ,had a look at the relays your ridden the starter relay and sprayed easy start in the air box and it started straight away so now not sure if electrical problem or it’s immobiliser any help is a massive help
So up to now, have changed the gateway module just noticed that their is no glow plug light at all on the dash and today put new battery in it,am beginning to think the ecu isn’t getting power of someone could help would be appreciated
Ok my 2010 jetty started with the driver side back brake light being on bright. Changed everything in the light assembly. We'll my battery gets drained if I do t unplug it. When I start my car nothing works. O electrical like radio windows, turn signals, brake lights nothing but my parking lights work. I need some help here bad. I tore my motor apart like 3 times, the inside of my car is taken apart. Ne ideas or if ne one has had the same problem n got it fixed can u explain this for me. Ne help will be appreciated very much. Its been like a year now. .
Turns out was a bad ecu had it opened up no sign of damage but was white crystals on the metal cover so water damage had the ecu changed and replaced with second hand one first turn of the key it started now misfires with a leaking injectors seal cylinder 2 the joys
When a had a look at the car a think the problem is the ecu in the uk spec sits underneath the windscreen wil the plastic panel on top that the wipers attach to and mines had a crack directly above the ecu area so just over time water must have got in what about your car is your ecu in the same place USA spec ?
Hi everyone. What happens to my Jetta a3 is that, when driving with the air conditioning on for a while, water starts leaking through the passenger's side. I have been told that it might be that the drain hose is blocked. I would appreciate if anyone could tell me where this hose is located as I am not able to find it. Another thing I've noticed is that my car does not throw away water through its bottom part as most cars do when the air conditioning is on. I hope someone can help me.
Buddy it is not a hose. Near the engine, right next to an aluminium protector or fire wall, there is a black plug and there must be a blockage there. You remove the plug and with a screwdriver you stab it so that it is deobstructed.
Replaced the factory multiple disc unit that died with an aftermarket android CarPlay unit. Wired it into the taillights along with another one for a dash cam (it’s working perfectly). Everything except the backup camera works fine.
The trunk doesn’t work now either.
There’s no real instruction manual whatsoever. China. Came with a wiring harness and cambus decoder that plugs right in.
Got any ideas on this?
The camera works perfectly with the power on and the engine off. Switching into reverse mode and shows a good image from the backup camera.
However, with the engine running it doesn’t work. It briefly shows a multiple image, then goes black, and gives a no signal message.
Update:
I’ve seen a gadget on AliExpress that claims to fix this problem. A transducer or something. The device filters out the hidden data transmitted in the wiring somehow. Apparently, this computer data is only present when the engine is running.
It looks like a typical canbus adapter for led headlights that wires in like a ballast resistor.
Could it be that simple?
Why is this not common knowledge if so?
I’m going to try it. Costs less than $5.
I have googled it and pulled up that when you hit the horn, you can hear the clicking noise. I can hear it underneath the fuels box area under the steering wheel, but I went and purchased a relay and I don’t know if I put it in the wrong place or what I also checked the fuses And still not working
I’m getting everything else for the ac is coming on except the compressor, now the car had been in a accident and damaged the one of the ac line which was repaired and gas up yet still not coming on
My radio and outlets have not working since i bought the car. The fuse to the 12v outlets is blown. I replaced it hoping it would fix the issue but it did not. There is no fuse where the diagram shows the radio fuse should be. When i try to put a different fuse in the same spot it is extremely loose and still does not work.
Replace the fuse in slot 30 with a 20A and the fuse in slot 57 with a 20A hope this helps. If this doesn’t work, buy new fuses chances are the ones you bought are just poor quality
There is nothing in slot 57 and it does not seem to connect to anything. But the radio has turned on randomly for a few minutes here and there in the past.
Doesn't crank. All the fuses are good. Battery is good 12.6 volt. No cranking at all. I hooked up the ECU from another jetta, same result. Looks like whether immobilizer issue, or ignition switch, or ground wire.
I have a 2014 Jetta. I changed the battery and now my bluetooth doesn't show up in the media menu. I tried unplugging the module under the passenger seat, disconnected the battery and tried resetting the radio all with no results. Any ideas on next steps for troubleshooting this?
Driver switch window not working but the three switch are working. I try to replace the driver side switch still the same only the driver window is not working it motor, wirings or fuse?
My sunroof it has been leaking since I got it I've had it for 2 years and I've tried to seal it with everything I can cuz I can't fix it or repair it right And it's been raining like no other lately and I've been having little issues I think my electrical system is messed up All my lights just sort of turning on all my morning lights and my speedometer does not work and it was just all the sudden can someone help
I threw a rubber door mat over the sunroof moonroof whatever I like 2006 GLI Jetta just up to water from coming inafter the weather clears up have to clean out the drainage spots under the hood possibly in the back of necessary
The AC work perfect and out of nowhere the air stops cooling and then cools back again and so on, after a couple of minutes of this happening the car starts over heating.
Air-conditioning pump works when using power probe to the trigger wire to engage the clutch the AC or max AC will not turn on the air-conditioning pump. No noises pressure switch is good. AC lines are charged.
My turns off some times out of no where, I start it again and continue, if I stop on red light it turns off, or sometimes when stop accelerating it turns off even when running. I changed the 4 wires and the cylinders (bujia) I guess they are called. The fans were not turning on, so we connected them with the AC and I now turn on the AC to have the fans on. The scanner keeps giving the errors after I change the entire 4 cables and bujias or cylinders.
Changed out battery and now windows, locking system, horn, windshield wipers and trunk won’t open. Yes I used a memory savor. 3 rd time switching out battery. I can’t seem to find the blown fuse.
