In the beginning there was an issue with the ignition cylinder that it would slide past Off to ACC or it would chime as if the key was still in the lock after the key was removed. The key would have to be wiggle or moved till the chime stopped and then remove the key. A couple of weeks ago went to start the truck, it started with no problems but when tried to shutoff the engine the ignition cylinder just moved from one end to the other and it would not shutoff. Disconnected batteries and still running. After a while I tried again to shut it off and it turned off. I suspected the problem to be the ignition cylinder or the ignition switch. Replace both and it did not resolve the problem. 3 lights on the left side of the dash would be on with the ignition key in the off position or removed and it would start and not shutdown. Tried to adjust and sync the ignition cylinder and the ignition sw via the cam in the steering column. After a lot of trial an error it seem to have worked, all lights off and it would start and turn off with no problem. Put everything back together and I was happy. Yesterday went to start the truck and the dash lights were back on and chimed as if key was in the ignition. Engine started but would not shutoff, disconnected batteries, no help. Removed ignition switch and switch pin was on the off position, moving it to any location no response, removed fuel fuse to shut it off. So, I am not sure what the problem is. When adjusting the steering column ignition cam it looked intact in good condition. Anyone's idea will be welcome.
