I canñot get the vehicle out of park without using the override button on the top of the column. I am also without braké lights. Daytime lights work, but ño brake líghts.
The blinkers and hazards work and click on the dash but not outside. Brake lights don’t working, including top one. Replaced brake switch, checked all fuses. Now what ?
Engine does not turn over. All dash lights come on and go off normally. Headlights work. Door locks can be cycled with fob. Can unlock shifter and it will move but mashing brake will not release shifter.
It's your ignition were you put your key in is not turning your ignition switch. If you unscrew it and use a screw driver or your key and it starts that's the problem. I have an 2010 escape and it stumped me too
My 07 escape XLT won't crank won't start, the gauges don't work on dash the radio don't work and my obd2 port won't work either. I bypass/jump the starter relay under the hood and it cranks and it counts like it's cranking real fast like no timing chain is there but won't start
No brake light.
Have changed brake pedal switch
Have check 5 amp fuse #21 in fuse box under hood.
Still no brake lights in any of the three rear brake light positions
Light bulb for taillight and stoplight is one bulb with dual element.
Stoplight feature in both right and left bulbs had failed.
Replaced both. Problem solved. Third stoplight is a complete unit and needs to be replaced also….no bulbs to replace.
Ive had issues for the past three years with my car done countless things to fix it and when we think we fixed the issue it comes right back. Essentially the caliper is sticking closed for some reason on the driver side front. Its got all new brakes in the front of the car: caliper, rotor, hose, pads. Have done brake flushes. Replaced the hydraulic unit. Did system updates to see if there were tech issues with the car and nothing has fixed this issue. I have dropped hundreds and hundreds of dollars into brake components and i just want the issue fixed if anyone has any issues or ideas id appreciate the help.
Have you tried doing a full brake flush to the system and seeing about contaminants in the fluid. When we’d bleed my brakes after putting a new caliper on there would be enough pressure for fluid to come out but the caliper would still end up hanging. Followed everything in line for mine caliper, hose, brake flush, abs block (dont quote me on that one) and then the master cylinder was next in line and the master was ultimately what fixed the issue and i havent had problems since.
Same problem. Was having issues with brakes hitting the floor for years, but atleast was not sticking. Now I can't even drive it cause the brake/calliper sticks front driver side after driving for 20 minutes. Problem started happening immediately after i got a full brake job, new brake booster, new rotors, shocks. Have had master cylinder replaced twice now. Mechanic telling me i either need a new master cylinder cause it's supposedly leaking AGAIN (3RD TIME) or it's the abs module (abs light is NOT on).
Truthfully even though the abs block is expensive if you wanna keep the car and be able to drive it. I’d try replacing it. Just a forwarning you it is not cheap to have replaced. The part alone coming from a ford dealership is $1,000.
@ErwinI was really hoping it was just the callipers, especially since it only started sticking after I had the brake job. If the abs light is not on then why would that be the problem?
@EscaperHave you tried new brake lines cause the lines are prone to collapsing in on themselves and causing the fluid to not flow through and making the caliper stick. If not try a new caliper cause sometimes they are faulty ive had a couple that were genuinely faulty.
As it was a rainy season, I was driving with the frost on when suddenly the dashboard went crazy: both the abs and handbrake lights turned on, the air conditioning and windscreen wipers worked faster, and even the needles started moving from one side to the other. But still there was no engine failure.
During heavy rain whinshield leaks and fuse box gets wet and shorts acure. Take cover off fuse box on drivers side kick panel and dry fuse box with sponge and hair dryer. There is a service bulliton for this
My 2001 Ford Escape 3lt V6 was working fine with no problems then all the dash lights went out - I have checker all the fuses and they are OK - my radio, interior and tail lights all work OK. Do you have any idea what may have caused this?
I was goinh down the rd abs light came on a min or so later stoped at a redlight and it died wouldnt start so i changed the altanator now the cluster or radio dosnt work and i have to put a screwdriver in little hole on the gear shifter to get it outta park
Anyone know what could be wrong I'll be driving down the street and the radio will switch station turn the volume all the way up or down on its own. 2012 escape
2010 Ford escape will run stop then power shuts off it starts if you hit the steering wheel power comes so it starts then dies an t the next light happened in middle of traffic to power steering locks up all lights come on an engine dies
Most likely your codes need to be cleared and also next time you do a repair that has to do with wires, fuses or parts in general disconnect your negative side and tuck it in somewhere so it don’t touch the battery and when you’re done plug it back in it’s the easiest way to reset the ECU/PCM/ECM and afterwards you won’t get any codes and for some reason your computer don’t reset like that use a scanner put the car on the on position not the run and press clear or delete codes and you should be good after that
Car runs and drives great. Not had any problems till now. The obd port doesn't work. So I can't have the system checked. But I have changed the breaks and abs sensors. And still the same problem.
My BlueDriver claims that both rear wheel speed sensors have wrong part installed. I've read that i need to remove and clean, cross reference part numbers that are etched on them, also check wiring and anything else related to them. I haven't attempted this yet. First, i need to fix the battery drain issue and then emissions issues, then the abs will get its turn.
My car quit running all of a sudden, had to get it towed back home, the tow truck guy tried charging the battery but it would not take a charge so we changed the battery but it won’t do anything not even a clicking noise, the door chime doesn’t come on and neither does the intstrument panel or the radio or the Sync screen but I have headlights , brake lights and the charging ports for the phone works, so I was thinking it’s a fuse , but have no idea which fuse it would be I have a 2018 ford escape s
I have a voltage draining on this car around .8 amp when car is turned off after 5 min waiting. Check all fuse and found out that fuse 5 (Keypad illumination, Brake Shift Interlock (BSI), Passenger compartment fuse panel) circuit is the problem because its drop to .02 amp.
I unplugged cluster. Radio , hvac. Everything in the front of the car and still get .6 -.8 amp reading with the fuse in the slot !!! someone have a idea what could be the problem ? Thanks
Las luces del tablero me indican que hay un problema con los freno. ABS, freno de mano, derrape y presión de neumáticos permanecen encendidas todo el tiempo.
Engine stalls and cuts off every time I’m at light or stop. But if I’m at a red light with my foot on the brakes and pressing the gas while idling it will not stall or cut off as long as I’m giving it gas.
I installed separate turn signal lights on the rear of my 08 escape and the only conection is the one for the brakes light which is the original, so i want to connect them separate without having to interupt with the brakes light, i need some help if anyone knows will be so greatfull thanks in advance.
