Hello, everyone. My vehicle suddenly stalled when driving. When turning the ignition key again, the starter spined but no explosion was heard. I really do not know what might be wrong and have no idea of the engine parts. If anyone could give me a helping hand, I would be really thankful. An engine diagram would be very useful as well. Thank you!
Good afternoon. I own a Matiz 2002 and, a few days ago, I was driving normally when the engine suddenly stalled. The check engine light blinked many times at that moment, and the vehicle has not started again since then. I've changed the fuel pump, but nothing changed. The fuel pump relay makes a noise every time I turn the ignition key, but the car has not responded at all. If anyone knows anything about it, I will appreciate your help.
Yes, Gib99 is right, it is the optical sensor that is failing. What happens is that it overheats and loses the spark, causing the pump relay noise you mentioned. It is not difficult to replace the optical sensor but you need to be careful with the CD.
My matiz starts "sometimes" then dies (engine light is off and doesn't come on again no matter what you do), when it does the relays goes wild, after fidling with the wire's and fuses it starts again but doesn't run for long. The engine light also doesn't come on... Replaced the relays and fuses but still the same problem after about 5hours it wil be ok to "try" to start again. Checked all the wires and cant see anything wrong or missing. I can't do diagnostics because nobody around here has the plug for my car. Seems I'm the odd one out.
I have a daewoo matiz 1999 model. L experienced the same thing when l was coming from wrk 2 weeks ago. L got stuck on the the road until my brother towed me to the garage. It was valve and a gasket that was broken so l had to take the head to the engineers. But its driving well
Hi, my Matiz works properly but suddenly stalls when driving. The strange thing is that I immediately start it again and it works as if nothing had happened for a long time, but it then fails again. If anyone had this same problem, please help me and I will be really thankful.
Under the car, and near the starter and the alternator, there is a wiring harness. In that harness, there is a ground black wire; if you do not having, the failure you mentioned and many others take place.
Thank you very much for your comments. I checked it properly and found out that the battery was not properly attached and, when the terminal moved, it hit the hood, causing a short circuit. That is why the car suddenly stalled. I adjusted the battery and the failure disappeared. Thanks.
