Engine runs but won't start SolvedSolved

Volkswagen Jetta 2001  143 miles
Hope someone can help me. I own an automatic Jetta 2001 and it was working properly until suddenly, one day, it wouldn't start again. The engine runs but there is no way it can be started. The fuel pump's pressure has been checked, the coil replaced as there were no sparks in the spark plugs, but the problem is still there. All fuses are alright as well as the crankshaft's sensor. The acceleration body has been cleaned and the battery replaced. Can the stereo have something to do? Because it is indicating SAFE 0000, meaning that the car is blocked? Can someone please tell me what to do?

After many attempts at trying to solve the same problem you are now having with my Jetta 2001, one day I found out that the temperature's sensor, through which the cooling liquid runs, had oil in its exterior. It was dirty due to a previous tuning, so I removed the connector to clean it and the failure disappeared. I really don't know how this can affect the starting, but I cleaned certainly deeply that connector, which has 4 pins, and the vehicle started as if nothing had happened. I then bought the sensor and the problem was finally solved.

Thank you, siller for reading and sharing your experience. After trying different things, I myself removed the crankshaft's sensor, took it to a good electrician and he said it was not working properly. I then bought a new one, installed it and it finally started.

The fuse box imagines on this website helped alot. Once I installed all the the parts. I noticed that the fuses on the side of the drivers panel were missing some so I checked this websites fuse diagram and noticed I didn't have one for the Fuel injectors. Once I added it car started right up.

No dash lights, radio works, no wipers, windows, lights front and back (I do have daytime lights! Have blinker and break lights) cooling fans, a/c stopped working, drained it all out, put a tiny bit in and it was almost in the red, now in the red days later 🙄, a/c compressor not engaging…. Got some codes saying blown fuse (probably relay) no interior lights either not even the map lights work. Cooling fan and AC fan will not turn on car will overheat if standing still.
The Jetta Mechanic from Egypt 4 months ago
You might want to check the fuel pump or the belt because that can be the culprit and also check the starter fuse

Also it had a po721 service code which I knew about I need to replace the output shaft speed sensor. No other codes

I have a 2006 vw jetta tdi automatic, before it failed completly when i turned the key it would crank slowley a few times and then normally and start. Battery is new now. Starter has been replaced and the replacement tested and working. I witnessed it spinning in the test. When I turn the key it will not engage the starter or turn over. Many failures SolvedSolved

Volkswagen Jetta 1999  135000 miles
The first failure in my car appeared from one day to the other. It was working perfectly one night, but the following morning it wouldn't start. There was some engine work but I could not start driving it. It seemed as though there was a fuel deficit, but it had been refuelled the day before. I checked the fuel pump, and surprisingly found out there was no sparking, so I logically thought the problem was with the coil. I changed it but it kept doing the same thing. I then checked relays, fuses and that there was electrical current reaching the coil and everything was ok. The crankshaft's senso… Read complete

Stalls SolvedSolved

Volkswagen Jetta 2001  55000 miles
After driving for 20-25 miles, the engine stalls and it won't start again. Only after 4 or 5 hours the car will start again as if nothing had happened. After the same distance, it stalls once more and this happens time after time. It seems as though the engine was suddenly blocked. A new coil was installed but the problem is still there. I would appreciate anyone's help. Thank you.

Hi, you should check the state of the relay number 409, as well as the crankshaft's sensor. You should also verify that the new coil is working properly.

Your problem must be the crankshaft's sensor, located behind the oil's filter.

2021 vw jetta 1.4 tfsi No cranking

Volkswagen Jetta 2021 1.4 tsfi 63000 miles
Doesn't crank. All the fuses are good. Battery is good 12.6 volt. No cranking at all. I hooked up the ECU from another jetta, same result. Looks like whether immobilizer issue, or ignition switch, or ground wire.

No Crank, No Start. Been troubleshooting the starter, starter relay.

Volkswagen Jetta 2007 4dr 2.5 SE 140000 miles
Car has good battery, 12.6 vdc with car off. When turning the key to the start position I hear what sounds like a single relay in the dash click. Sounds like its coming from the relay panel left of steering wheel. The 2007 jetta 2.5 SE is my wifes car & has seen better days. She drove the grandkids to school in the morning a week ago & went to leave a few hours later & no start. I've forgotten how to troubleshoot. Its been awhile. Update. I'm not getting power at the starter
