Battery drains changed altenator

Vehicle: 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan. My vehicle originally had only one problem: the passenger-side HVAC blend door actuator was faulty, causing hot air to come out of the passenger-side vents. There were no other electrical or mechanical issues before I removed the dashboard. I removed the dashboard to replace the blend door actuator. Before reinstalling the dashboard completely, I turned the ignition switch to the ON position to test all vehicle systems. Tailgate window got shattered. Glass company replaced it. Then tailgate hit a mind of its own. It does what it wants when it wants, including lock and refuse to respond. How to troubleshoot. Disconnecting battery and draining system only works part of the time.
