It is inside of the engine but it is surrounded by a serrated belt. The timing belt of the engine moves it. After some time, its internal booster may get damaged and stop pumping liquid. You should replace it every time you change the timing belt.
I changed out the water pump,thermostat, ECT sensor, radiator, flushed the coolent system. And the needle still goes all the way up to the hot position and the light with the lightning logo comes on.
I have the same issue qith a 2014 dodge grand caravan but sometimes it dances over half might go to hot maybe and other times runs like butter for a week then does it again. I also have to fill it at the radiator cap every day it's not pulling from the reservoir
When we go the car we noticed that it would overheat found out that the summer house that broke fix that fix the water pump got a brand new one installed that but I'm still leaking somewhere there's no leaks on the ground I have no idea where this leak is coming from I'm spending so much money on coolant it is ridiculous please help
