I have a Chevrolet Aveo 2012 1.4 petrol, and I’m struggling with a serious issue. The engine sometimes shuts off suddenly while driving. After it dies, it won’t start again for a long time; sometimes I have to wait almost a day. When it does start, it may run fine for a while, then shut off again.
Symptoms:
The engine stalls while driving.
Won’t start immediately after shutting off.
No check engine light or stored codes in the ECU currently.

I replaced the main relay (R4, Crank/Run) again and started checking connectors. When I unplugged the ignition coil connector, I noticed the rubber sealing ring inside was slightly out of place. Because of that, the connector couldn’t fully seat. I gently pushed the rubber ring back where it should be and made sure all the pins in the connector were properly aligned. I also checked the ground wire to the chassis.
After putting everything back together, the car started right up with no issues. I’ve been driving for over a week now, and everything is working perfectly.
So after spending money on multiple parts (some replaced twice, like the crankshaft sensor), the actual cause was a small wiring/connector issue. Lesson learned: always check wiring and grounds before replacing major components.
