First check the ENTIRE coolant/antifreeze system for function and leaks. Meaning:
1. Check all hoses/coolant lines for splits/leaks
2. Check the radiator, heater core, and the coolant tank THOROUGHLY for splits/leaks; these can be hard to see because the split plastic doesn't obviously look broken and/or in strange places
3. Make certain the water pump is working properly; the Yaris is known for water pump failures, it was the 1st part to ever fail on my Yaris (it's a cheap replacement)
4. Make certain that the coolant level is FULLY topped up in the radiator & coolant tank
5. Check for air bubbles in the coolant/antifreeze system, these can occur even in a full & topped up system!
6. Check for head gasket leakage or failure which will kill an engine if ignored! The primary symptoms are overheating and the mixing of oil and coolant, which will make either the oil or coolant (or both) look like chocolate milk. This requires immediate intervention!!!

It may sound strange, but check to make sure that the coolant/antifreeze level is full. My Yaris will only blow cold air if the coolant/antifreeze level is too low. That is because the coolant/antifreeze must circulate properly through the car's heater core in order for the heater to work. If the coolant/antifreeze level is too low OR if there are air bubbles in the coolant lines, then the flow is interrupted and the heater core can't get warm. Of course check the ENTIRE coolant/antifreeze system for function and leaks, INCLUDING the radiator and water pump. The Yaris is known for water pump failures. It is an inexpensive part to replace, but a bad water pump can destroy an engine! It was the first part on my Yaris to ever fail.

Jacking and gets hot

Toyota Yaris 2006 Hatchback  300000 miles
When I start the car in the morning it's revs neatly but as soon as it's starts being warm it's misfire and not responding accordingly. When it's warm it starts to hold back power and shows over heating
