2008 Prius Won't start with key in my pocket
Toyota Prius 2008 Hatchback 223000 miles
I replaced the keys battery, no luck. It only starts with the key in the ignition. Any thoughts?

Possibly damage to the circuit in the key fob. Open up your key fob, like you would to change the battery, and look really closely at all of tiny little components. Use a bright light and probably a magnifying glass or the camera on your phone to check for any tiny burn marks or other damage. If the key fob gets wet it can cause something to short and the keyfob will still work but only at the ignition. Also there is an antenna in your car that detects the keyfob that could be bad. It's usually under the cup holder/center console.

I tried my second key fob with the same result. I need to locate the antenna for the key fob and check it out. I am not sure when that will happen. I have been very busy lately. If I find a solution I will pass it on. Thanks for the suggestions!

door ajar light stay on

Car wouldn't start. Replaced dead 12 volt battery, car working again, but door adjar light still on. Which fuse controls this(adjar door light) that we don't have to disconnect the battery? A video had a few fixes to try but that was on an older Corolla (fuse #10) and we would like to disconnect in the fuse box instead of disconnecting the battery in the prius
