If you're not leaking oil , then you're burning it. Check oil filling cap for yellow/brown mix of coolant/oil. Check compression on each cilinder, oil rings on pistons may be clogged,which gives high compression, headgasket blown if lots of compression difference. Given the milage changing engine may be only option.

Starter sounds OK. At 350k km get your injectors cleaned or renewed. Find a service that does that, do not mix hazy additives in your fuel.
