My 07 malibu has this issue too it barely works unless I press it a bunch which I thought it could be the switch but why work once in a while n not not at all if it were the switch? The passenger door lock switch only unlocks the doors and the drivers literally only locks the doors when it wants to. I also have some sort of parasitic drain that causes my battery to drain immensely causing a no crank situation everytime I shut it off I've replaced the alternator and still no luck the battery charges while running because ive checked the voltage from the alternator so I'm at such a loss I've tried several different batteries to no avail any advice would be great
My problem is i have all my signals n fuses working radio comes on but lost sound to my speakers my door chimes my blinker signals cant figure out what is wrong had anyone had this same issue
I have a 2011 Chevy Malibu LS and I’ve also been dealing with the same issue for a few months now. I’ll start my car and the radio will display the stations but no sound will come on. Same thing with the door chime and blinker chime. It will not work for a few days and then as I’m driving it will randomly just come back on… radio, blinker and door chime. It’s very frustrating and looks like we all would just like an answer to the problem. Please feel free to leave a reply if you have had the issue resolved.
Sometimes my radio would just wig out go off and on and couldn't connect the Bluetooth it would go off n on too I think it was cause of the slots filled in the Bluetooth anyways I would just factory reset the whole radio from the settings and it would work idk if that's the same problem but it worked for me on my radio problem
All the same happened to my 2016 LTZ, except I accidentally connected a positive speaker wire to a negative amp I had hooked. Everything short circuited, then an awful hissing was coming from rear passenger speaker and wouldn’t stop. Even when I turned the car off. Changed all fuses related to anything radio or infotainment, emissions and media related. Disconnected the speakers and amp. Now can hear any sound what so ever. Also disconnected the on star/ Bluetooth and speakers that were plugged into it, but I’m not sure if the fuel regulator to the fuel pump has anything to do with it. Did all and every kind of reset there is to do. Now I must just disconnect the screen and maybe re-wire the front passenger and rear passenger speaker wires.
Basically, it’s a reset on the amplifier, but I’m still trying to figure out if that is the on star device or the fuel regulator. Try to disconnect the in dash fuses for the amplifier and radio, this must be done in synchronous fashion. Wait 10 minutes and then re-insert the fuses back the same way. Amp is a 30amp radio is a 15amp. If it still doesn’t work try to disconnect the onstar if you have that. It would say wifi on the mechanism. Do this in the same exact form as the former. Two plugs side by side with different color wires harnessed.
After stopping at a red light, the car struggles to start up again. The radio turns off and on, the door locks and unlocks. It’s seems to get worse has time goes on
I had this problem for a while and changing the battery didn’t work for me. I was able to bypass it by driving my car in the “L” for Low instead of “D” for Drive. When you put it on low, you have to press the + button 5 times so your car can get up to 6th gear. Hope this helps.
I had the same problem car didn't want to pass smog...code for battery appeared so I checked all relays and wires going to the battery...long story short I figured out that the small battery in the trunk was dead...that battery keeps your auxiliary components on when auto stop engages...also initiates cracnk up for starter...so I replaced small battery in trunk and problem solved...battery was about $130.00 bucks your welcome 🤗
I had this problem until I purchased auto start/ stop on Amazon for $11 and it takes 5 minutes to put on and problem solved! If you drive in L6 it can damage the engine!
Remote should look somewhat similar if it has a remote start. To work it, push the lock button twice (should hear 2 horn sounds… beep beep (which is the lock sound) then hold down the starter (reload symbol with circle ending arrow) looks like image on the bottom, mine on my remote is worn out and scratched!! (button above the red button (alarm) for about 2-5 seconds then it will start. 👌🏽
… push lock button twice, then hold down start for 2-5 seconds…
Im doing this and it's not starting it usually does but idk wats going on all my buttons seem to b working but for some reason it don't want to turn on any suggestions?
Your best bet is to go to the mechanic because there might be an issue in your fuse box. -under the hood top let corner. Most likely a blown fuse or circuit that issues.
Hard reset: Remove both radio and amp fuses 30amp and 15amp (18&4) for 1 minute then replace and test.
Soft Reset: With the car off, ignition on, press and hold the Home and Fast Forward (FF) buttons on the head unit simultaneously for about 10 seconds until the screen goes black and reboots. Test for fix
I can use my key to unlock and lock the car but I can’t use the button on the door and then when I get in the message board says no key detected place key in console
