Persistent P0420 Code

Chevrolet Cruze 2015 LT, Turbo 111000 miles
My check engine light keeps coming back on with the code P0420 on my 2015 Chevy Cruze LT. I've replaced the front catalytic converter, both O2 sensors (one is aftermarket and one is GM made based on advice from a Chevy mechanic), replaced all the spark plugs, replaced coolant hoses, the coolant container, did a smoke test and found no leaks... I'm out of ideas on how to fix this code. The car drives just fine unless I ride it hard (fast accelerations and/or high speeds for long distances), then it will stutter and the check engine light will flash. If I back off and give it a few moments, the… Read complete

Have you fixed it yet I have the same problem
Zenny from United States a year ago
No, still haven't fixed it. I asked on Reddit and some people think the fact that I replaced the original catalytic converter with an aftermarket one could be the issue. Did you replace yours with a GM cat or aftermarket cat?

I got a 2013 Chevy Cruze mine stuttered too at one point I would check your coil pack because if one of those things goes out I will make your car misfire and stutter that’s what my issue was. As for the p0420 code I have the same thing I’ve replaced my catalytic converter and my o2 sensors but this whole time the problem has just been a small exhaust leak

Low acceleration

Chevrolet Cruze 2014  169000 miles
Please help!!! Hello I have this problem with my 2014 CHEVY CRUZE. Where everytime I press down on the as pedal, the car accelerates but NOT past a certain a certain RPMs sometimes, or! it takes forever to get there. Now there's smoke coming out of the hood, but not a lot and the car is not overheating.so it's obviously not the transmission. ( i would assume) However when I did buy the car I drove it back from California to Oregon which is approximately?. . . (1,000 miles if that matters to anyone) there was a moment where I had to stop the car because there was a stretch of freeway that had a… Read complete

Unstable idle in Drive after engine swap F18D4 with LUW ECU mismatch i

Chevrolet Cruze 2014 1.8  90000 miles
I have a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze 1.8 (VIN: 1G1PA5SH9E7449244) with automatic transmission. The original engine was replaced with an F18D4 engine, but the ECU is still the original LUW type. Problem: The engine has unstable idle, especially in Drive (D) at low throttle. RPM fluctuates and there is slight vibration. Scanner readings: - Intake camshaft position: around 44° - Exhaust camshaft position: 0° at idle - When pressing accelerator slightly (about 10%), exhaust camshaft follows intake (around 45° intake / 48° exhaust) Tests performed: - Disconnecting intake VVT solenoid improves idle sig… Read complete
