I recently noticed a new engine noise that is most noticeable at idle and lower speeds; however, I'm sure it continues at higher speeds as well because the intensity of the noise grows with increased throttle while parked or in neutral. I replaced the serpentine belt and alternator-attached tensioner within the last 35k miles, but the only idea I can come up with at the moment is a bad belt/pulley theory.
