I have a 2008 Toyota Corolla 1.8L automatic transmission. The car makes a popping sound from the engine when I press the gas pedal suddenly. Fuel consumption is higher than normal. Sometimes I can smell gasoline after driving. There is slight rough idle at times. Spark plugs are new and original. The problem started after using regular low octane fuel. No major warning lights on the dashboard.

Excessive fuel consumption
Toyota Corolla 2009 corolla, 1.8 Lt., CE 117000 miles
My vehicle has started to burn excessive fuel. But when I fill the tank up, I get 50 m/gal or 5.6 L/100 on the highway and 38 m/gal or 7.4 L/100 km in town as per specs. This lasts for the first 62.00 miles/100 km. I think my EVAP System is not functioning properly but I am not getting a fault code.

The car was being out white and black smoke due to late servicing and lead to high rate of fuel consumption and have rectify that but now it is blue smoke what might be the cause of the blue smoke despite the good sounds of the engine
