Skoda Fabia 2000 Hatchback, 1,4 MPI - 44kW, manualThe best:1. Simple and reliable engine
2. Cheap to fix
3. Decent fuel economy (when driven calmly)
4. Comfortable seats and usable interior space - I have 2nd standard equipment (After Fabia I - Junior), and its suprise comfy
5. Pleasant steering and shifter
6. Available spare parts - Here in Czech Rep. spare parts are rlly not problem. On every scrapyard, there are like 5-15 Fabias (Depend on how big the scrapyard is)
The worst:1. It’s slow. Like… really slow - 44 kW (60 hp) isn’t much. Accelerating onto a highway or going uphill with passengers really shows the limits. You will be flooring it often.
2. Fuel consumption rises fast when pushed
3. Small boot - In hatchback the boot is small (260 liters). If you need bigger, you have to buy combi (426 liters). Sedan have same big as a hatch.
3. Cheap interior - There is a lot of plastic, which can be easily damage
4. Rust on older ones
5. Cooling system gremlins - Thermostats and coolant temperature sensors are weak points. Not expensive to fix, but annoying when they go

Also the timing chain can strech in under 100.000Km. In our case, and 130.000KM, the chain is perfect and has not streched.0
