Did you find the problem? I put a knife switch and shut it off when not in use. Put a trickle charger on. I think it is relay 401. Autozone didn't have the right replacement. I have a 2003 Toyota Camry that has only 110000 on it. I alternate between the two. I wish I knew the real solution.
My power windows, radio, dash instruments all stopped. After a few days, I started it up..and everything powered up and has stayed up. What caused the temporary failure?
Hi it's fuse your fuse #14. I have a process I just completed the process of getting it fixed and problem with the fuse blowing out was the exterior board lights. I can walk you through if you haven't figured it out
R U referring to the lights below the mirrors? I don't think this 04 has running board lights. One time windows, dash, radio quit..a few days later everything started working and gas worked since.
Ya the step to get in has lights on the outside. I unplugged all 4 of them. From there i went into the engine fuse box and unplugged all related fuses which was #601, 12, 15. From there I got in the passenger side and reached under the driver fuse box and replaced the #14. Fuse didn't blow awesome. Go out and plug in all the engine fuse box fuses I took out and everything was great. Problem was a short in the board lights on the step up and the wiring needed to be replaced. Without having the board lights in I haven't had an issue
@NomechSounds good man. I'll keep a look out if you need help. Took me a bit to figure all that out but follow it exactly how I said I tried it all kinds of ways and that one worked.
Thank you. Sounds like you really have the answer. Thank you. As stated, I have other things on my mind right now. I love that truck. Used to be in the Heating Oil biz up North, had CDL-A, Hazmat, Air brakes.
After a week..I got into my truck, turned the key and EVERYTHING WORKED AND HAS BEEN WORKING. DO YOU ALL THINK IT COULD BE THE 401 RELAY IN THE FUSEBOX?
I still haven't solved my problem with no windows, no gauges, no radio. Got a Chiltons manual, no real hints. I put in a knife switch on the battery. When I want to use it..I close knife switch and it runs great. Still no real idea what the problem is.
Checked everything and nothing. Have Ford 6 pack CD player in my 2005 Expedition Limited and display will occasionally go dim or off. Found out if you tap the screen with your fingers fairly hard display brightens or reappears.
Radio quit working and now buttons on both sides of the screen do not work the right side of my steering wheel buttons do not work but on the left side they do check my fuses found one burnt out radio fuse replaced it but still no go
I have a 2000 for expedition premium. I'm installing a system in it but am having trouble with wires. Does anyone know where I can get a harness adapter from the new radio to the original harness
I'll upload pics of the original. Thank you in advance.
It's not stalling
I put in a new CD in the console player and it would not play. After putting CD in and putting it back in console, it seems like it’s loading it up to play, then it clicks off and the radio starts playing.
The steering wheel radio volume button does not work, bu;t the ac/heater fan and temperature do, and the left side has cruise control buttons all work fine. Is there a fuse for the radio controls?
Right side don't work left does and radio buttons on left of screen and right of screen not working press cd eject and screen recognizes that there is no CD so no radio still
It's the switch, dirty contact. Had to remove the airbag to access the 2
Screws holding the switch. Spray electric contact cleaner
Used compressed air. Works fine.
I. Had an aftermarket stereo for 3 yrs. One day I hear a loud noise then nothing head unit still played but no up or down volune. Tried to swap head unit but keep blowing fuse 31 also 7
Fuse box on inside passenger side went out. Replaced it now everything turns on lights radio etc but when I go to start it I get nothing but clicks from fuse box.
My 2003 Ford Expedition XLT turns on electrically — the lights, radio, and air conditioning all come on — but the engine won’t start. At first, I thought it was a dead battery, so I replaced it with a new one. However, the issue remains. What could be causing this problem? Could it be the starter, ignition switch, fuse, or something else?

That sounds good. When I get things done at home I'll get back to that.
