Chevrolet Sonic 2012 Hatch Back 100000 miles
I got this car for my daughter to learn on. Easy car, small. 5 Speed manual, crank windows.
It has a knock sensor code. Simple thought the sensor was bad. Replaced and the code returned. Checked the engine and there is no knocking happening. Got another sensor to be safe that I didn't get a junk one, and the same thing. I clear the code and it comes back after shutting it off and back on.
I can not figure it out, also can not get it tagged so she can drive it around. Any ideas?

After securing the tech manuals, I was able to narrow it down to the knock sensor wiring. I had to isolate the wires from the PCM and run new lines instead of completely removing the wiring harness to locate the issue. Problem is solved. Once I knew the wires in the PCM connector and which connector, finding the issue with a MM was quick and simple. Running the new wires also simple. Passed emissions and back on the road.

Check engine light on, code p0128, already changed sensor and still keeps happening and getting code.

Have you check the thermostat? In many Chevrolet cars that code indicates that the engine is not reaching the operating temperature, usually due to a thermostat failure.
If the thermostart is falty will the heater works
@kallieNo it will not cuz the thermostat would be stuck open

My sonic will not start it’s throwing a P.O. 420 code and I’ve fixed the sensor smog senor I’ve tried everything and I still can’t get it to start it will turn but not start?,??? I don’t know but I’ve came to my end far as my knowledge of is ending can u help me out so my problem is no start it turns over but will not start do think it could be my starter or could it be my fuel filter or pump.

Well I am having issue with the same thing and I took the fuel filter off n I can't blow thru both sides so imma try to bypass that n drill thru it and see if that works so I kno I just need a new one I been spending money on it n comes to same thing n if not change hoses if they r clogged

Prendo el vehículo despues de un tiempo no entra el ventilador y se consume el refrigerante, lo apago y vuelve a llenarse el refrigerante en el deposito, ya le cambie radiador,termostato,mangueras y sensores ¿que cren que pueda ser?

There are a few relays. You can just switch around just to see if it works.

When idling it’s jerky and when I’m driving constant speed it’s jerking. I got the codes read at auto zone and it says that the I need new 02 sensors but the mechanic says I need new coils and spark plugs ? But when codes were read at auto zone it didn’t say I needed those just o2 sensors any suggestions ?

El código P0017 indica que la computadora del motor ha detectado un problema en la correlación entre las posiciones del cigüeñal y del árbol de levas. En términos sencillos, las dos partes críticas del motor no están perfectamente sincronizadas.
Mae como cuesta encontrar un mecánico bueno, para este carro
