I have a 2005 equinox, about 2 months ago i noticed liquid on my driveway (just Little spots) so i took it to mechanic, could not find anything so kept driving it then when i left it running for about 10 minutes while i went in to store, came out and my dial for hot was way over so i shut it off for about 10 minutes took it back to mechanic who said i needed new intake gaskets , he did that and charged me $300, then about 2 weeks later car got hot again and i pulled over called another mechanic and he said it was my wáter pump and thermostat, so that cost me $353, now today when i was driving… Read complete

Mine is doing that as well I think I have figured out what it is I believe the radiator is plugged drain port also plugged going to try and flush will let you know if it is the fix 06 equinox have changed water pump and thermostat bled the system few different times tonight I leave for a test drive I get 5 miles and gauge rises instantly from normal range bring home try different things goes same distance does same thing bring home fan runs after engine is turned off car has been good to me has 216000 miles on it so I'm going to flush radiator I believe that is the problem no water in oil or out tail pipe

My 08 equinox sport v6 3.6 has 128000 miles on it and it is sputtering at low n high speeds and up hills especially n when I turn left it makes a weird noise it all seemed to happen at once...I have seen where it could be spark plugs for the sputtering or way worse transmission...I loved it until this I really can't afford any mechanic work right now...frustrated to no end n I spent a lot on the vehicle when I bought it...it's too low of miles to have all these problems...wish I would of known all the problems with these before I bought it...these days tho all cars seem to have major issues 😏😡
Possibly throttle position sensor or bad fuel filter? Have heard others with similar issues fixed by replacing sparkplug wires
Bro see if u trust on me then , i am telling you that equinox system of electronic after 15 years got fuck , the model from 2006 to 2010 are doing such things but the engine is working good . 1 - if ur car is getting heat at high temp the sighn is showing while driving and u r standing on lights waiting for green . And at once sighn shows over heating just put some accllarate hammer down near 2000 rom . For 15 sec it will shut down . Many more things are done by this equinox lt . So dont worry . While at morning just check the oil in engine and collent is ok if its ok so dont see the lights coming in meter . Am damn sure about it .

Temperature keeps going up. First it was only when idling, but now it happens when van is moving. Sometimes heater blows cold air instead of hot. Just replaced thermostat. Both fans work.

Your heads prob blown!! My fans don't work at all. Any ways my daughter bought the thing 5 mos ago thinking it was only the 02 sensor!! Then it started over heating real bad the radiator hose blew we replace that then the thermostat all this in a day well the thermostat was put on the following day. That's when we were informed the heads blown !!!_we flushed the radiator ALL day process and tomorrow we're pouring in the shead gasket seal (blue Devil) but we gotta figure out what's going on with the fans 1st!! You said yours are still working fine?

I replaced, radiator, thermostat, hoses, fuses for HVAC, cabin filter, blend door actuator, added a pump on heatercore lines to force fluid, over flow tank and cap still no heat it only lasts a day after any replacement. Heatercore flush as well. I have the correct dex in radiator. The blower works well a/c works fine after refill. This truck is well takin care of with no other problems. 162,000 miles. Regular oil changes and any other maintenance its needed has been done. Iam at a total loss here and its single digits outside now and I really need to figure this out. If anyone has an idea please toss my way. Thank you

I've got a car in the shop currently that is kicking my butt and I could use some input! 2013 Equinox LEA 2.4l FWD 179k miles. This car recently had the motor replaced for broken timing chains that destroyed the head, and then sat for nearly 9 months before it was sold (customer never paid, mechanics lien). It was finally sold and is now back, came in for some unrelated issues (brakes and thermostat) but noticed it during test drives.

No heat. Replaced thermostat & actuator and no luck. The blower (fan) worked great before i put in a new actuator now blower doesn’t work at all.
