The brake lights stay on even when the car is turned off. I had to pull the fuse to save the battery.

The brake light switch is on the brake pedal... there is a rubber circle disk usually blue that the brake switch presses against... is wears out and breaks... it the blue disk is gone the brake lights will not shut off... I got sick off replacing the blue disk so I took 2dimes and glued them together and then duck taped them where blue disk went

My problem is my transmission in my 98 escort it is an automatic it will drive fine until I just barely tap the brake and its like it goes right in to neutral then I have to drop it done into low feel it kick back in then it's fine again till I hit the brakes
