It can be found next to the engine and it is activated by the poly-V belt. While the engine is running, the alternator will charge the battery. Inside of it there is a voltage regulator that limits the electric tension that will be delivered.
Hello,
We are on our 4th new battery in 2 years. Somewhere the car is drawing power. We live in very remote small town. None of the 4 local mechanics can find the problem. Any assistance would help. Car has anew alternator. The heated seats is not working

Once upon a time I found a forum post mentioning that having a CD/DVD in the radio would drain the battery, this was the case for my 2014 Journey. Also check that your battery sensor on the terminal is working properly.
It's an ECM issue it's a computer issue that has to be rebooted and reprogrammed make sure that all your connections are all clean and that your glove compartment is closed
So recently I had an issue with my alternator going out so I changed the alternator. But, what would cause my battery to start going dead all the time. Even when I'm not near my vehicle. It could sit for 1 to 8 hrs and sometimes it'll start right away and other times it's just dead and have to get a jump to get it going. What's the issue?
I've had the same issue going on for a yr now. I thought it was the battery so I bought a new battery & within 2 months it was doing it again. Took it to Dodge & they told me the starter & alternator were good & that I needed a new battery. I guess I'm going to take it back to Firestone & see if the battery is bad even tho I've taken it to be tested at 3 diff autoparts stores & all 3 have said the battery is fine just needs to be charged up. I think it's the alternator or the voltage regulator but dodge swears it's the battery. Who knows!! I'm just sick to death of the issue & I'm afraid it's going to cause damage to my car having to constantly jump it off my battery pack.
Have the same issues with mine as well replacement of the battery and had to buy a jump box and and over night changer for cold nights just to have a reliable start in the morning! Not sure why what the issue is but would sure love a answer
