Coil: Electrical device that creates the sparks that can be seen in spark plugs.

It is a high-current generator. The engine's computer sends a signal to the coil so that it can boost the energy that will be conducted through some special wires to the spark plugs and, in one of its ends, the spark that will later spark the fuel mixture inside of the cylinders will be generated.
I have changed the spark plugs, coil packs, and the 1st muffler fell off second one is no good, yet it still has the catalytic converter. Keeps saying coil pack, but has changed it. Any ideas?
It’s the vvt solenoid…. Its located in the passenger side of the engine block towards the front of the engine…u have to drop the power steering, remove the belt etc in order to remove it…there’s small screens inside the vvt that get plugged up and won’t allow the oil to go through which is what causes the power loss and misfiring randomly...I’ve had my trailblazer 9 years and have had to replace it twice…same with the cam position sensor…buy quality parts...don’t waste the time buying cheap parts that don’t work out of box…one thing that’s extremely important with these vehicles is the oil…u have to keep the oil changed on schedule and use only synthetic 5/30…don’t use traditional oil in these engines. It will sound like a diesel engine and run rough…if the oil doesn’t get changed it becomes thicker and plugs up the screens on the vvt solenoid that engages the second cam for horsepower…then leads to coil burn outs and misfiring…maintenance is extremely important with these types of engines and transmissions…. Change trans filter and fluid every 50k otherwise they burn out gears early
When I got everything worked as should. Then my wipers would come on and keep while car was running and had to pull fuse to stop them. Then my left signal would work sometime when it wanted to. Then I changed plugs and coil packs and the left and right didn't work at all. Checked all fuses were good. So I replaced the switch and still not working don't know what else to check
