Car does not start after 30 minutes of driving

The vehicle starts up every morning and drive smooth. It runs clean there does not appear to be any problems you drive to the Gas station. You stop the car, shut it off. Get out gas up the car, come back the car starts right up. You continue driving but anything more than 35-45 minutes. You come back to the car. The car will not start and the dinging sound that you usually get, is not present. When you put the key in and turn it forward, it is not there. Usually after waiting an hour or more .. maybe it may start. All fluid levels appear good. All fuses and relays appear good as well. Battery is new. Only code on my reader is o2 sensor bank 2 wich I will replace.

My 2008 freestyle with 250,000 miles started doing this, this past winter. Seemed like if the vehicle had time to cool off, it would restart. Now that it’s warmer, mine won’t start at all. I was frustrated enough with it that I ran a wire from the excite wire terminal on the starter to a momentary push button switch. On the other side of the switch I ran the wire to an inline fuze holder with a 15 amp fuze (it would blow a 10 amp fuze) and then directly to the positive battery cable. It didn’t solve the issue necessarily, but it’s a work around until I can figure out and repair the problem. I suspect the bcm has failed because I can hear the bcm click when I turn the ignition to the start position, but I don’t get voltage at the excite wire on the starter solenoid. A little back history on my freestyle; I have replaced the starter and ignition switch as well as the key lock. None of those repairs effected the cranking issue. I also checked and cleaned all the grounds that I can find on the car. My freestyle hasn’t thrown any codes through this whole time.
