When I push clutch pedal to floor, it’s still hard to shift

I went to go to work and started my car up and everything seemed fine until I heard what sounded like a small knocking noise. So I got out the car and popped the hood but couldn’t find where it was coming from, so I went to cut the car off. When I pressed the starter button the entire entertainment system and LED system cut off but the engine was still going. So I pressed the clutch pedal and made sure it was in neutral and pressed the ignition button again and the entertainment system/ LED system came back.
