It is a solenoid valve commanded by the vehicle's computer (ECU). It may be located on the cylinders or in the intake pipe. Its basic purpose is to pulverize the fuel adequately so that it can combust correctly inside of the cylinders. Each car has a specific type of injector.
My highlander starts and stalls at will. I have replaced the fuel pump, injectors, ignition coils but it has not fixed the problem. Sometimes it behaves normal and i drive it to anywhere but when i park it the following morning it will start and stall for several hours until the battery runs down or it decides to start normal.
