Engine Control Unit. According to the values shown by different sensors, it estimates certain parameters such as the amount of air and fuel that need to be supplied, the amount of time needed to start the car, the pressure of the turbocharger, and any other key aspects to maximize its performance and efficiency with the least amount of contamination possible.
ECU is not responding, the shop had it for 2 weeks and could not figure it out. Getting power from the ipdm but not the ECU. Good solid crank but no start
When testing resistance on the CAN bus, make sure the battery is disconnected first. Harness side (with IPDM unplugged): ~120 \Omega across CAN-High and CAN-Low. This measures the remaining terminating resistor in the network (at the ECM). IPDM module side (pins on the IPDM itself): ~120 \Omega across the CAN pins, as the IPDM serves as a terminating module on Nissan V-CAN systems. Entire network plugged in: ~60 \Omega across CAN-High and CAN-Low anywhere on the bus (measured at the OBD2 DLC port across pins 6 and 14), because the two 120\ \Omega terminating resistors operate in parallel.
