Engine Control Unit. According to the values shown by different sensors, it estimates certain parameters such as the amount of air and fuel that need to be supplied, the amount of time needed to start the car, the pressure of the turbocharger, and any other key aspects to maximize its performance and efficiency with the least amount of contamination possible.
When starting the car, the engine does not respond, and when checking with the detection device, the code P1690 appears, and when trying to identify the key code, it gives a failure to connect to the PCM
This happens to me as well. I fix it by putting the vehicle in neutral and pushing it either forward or backwards about a foot. Place back in park and it starts up. I have never checked codes.
look for the cover on your console that is small enough to insert sa screwdriver and gently pop it open . looking it with a small light and you will see a release that will free the shifter it wont fix the problem but it will allow you to move it into park
