gps screen out of nowhere stopped working screen comes on for alil while then stats on bmw logo screen but wont function at all and in turn the stereo wont work either trying to see if i can fix problem myself

I had this problem and it turned out to be the GPS player in the trunk went bad. You can buy a fiber optic jumper on Amazon, remove the GPS player and tie wrap the jumper to the optical cable that went into it. Everything began working after this other than GPS which was no longer in the system. If it’s not the GPS Player you can use the jumper to eliminate the other devices one at a time. There are also a few videos on YouTube covering this process
