Still not solved. I have made some video reviews regarding ABS sensors and pump. Some of them refer that a dirt on sensor connections may send a wrong signal to ECU and based on that it bypasses the hydraulic brake circuit. Also mention that air in the lines may be a cause also. Incoming air to the lines is a typical issue when replacing brake shoes. It may also send the signal to apply the brakes, referred this later as the more common issue. I have not tested yet this. I will clean sensors and connections. At the same time bleed perfectly hydraulic system. I am attaching some reference from you tube. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=ABS+failure+… and also https://mechanicbase.com/brakes/abs-se…

Power steering very uncomfortable

Volkswagen Vento 2011 Vento Manual transmission 25000 miles
While driving when the steering wheel is moved there is resistance and there is a small "tak " noise but once the steering starts to cut in there is no more resistance from the steering wheel. The power steering works well but it is strenuous to drive because there is constant force to be overcome on the steering wheel for even the smallest movements of the wheel. No steering warning lights come on

Oil light turns on

Volkswagen Vento 2006  145000 miles
The oil light indicator turns on. I've taken it twice to the agency. The first time, I was told that the vehicle was mechanically perfect and that it might be a failure in the sensor plug. The problem persisted so I returned ten days later, left the car a whole day there and they are now telling me that the problem is solved, but the light keeps turning on.

The oil light usually turns on because the chip that is under the crankcase is either disconnected or loose. Remove it, clean it and connect it again and your problem will be solved. In my case, I sticked it so that it does not move any more.

Jerks when accelerating

Volkswagen Vento 2006  110000 miles
Hi, everyone. Recently, on a highway, my Vento jerked considerably when starting to accelerate, as if the current was cut. I've replaced the spark plugs with some NKG platinium, that come for this model, but the failure persists. It jerks two or three times and then continues properly and, it you accelerate the car deeply at once, the tugs are not even felt. Might it be that the spark plugs are not appropriate?

Dunk from United States 8 years ago
Hello, Bezaleel. The spark plugs you mention are good ones, so I recommend you to check the spark plugs wiring as, if they are failed, the car jerks and the engine is not allowed to develop all its power. I also recommend you to tune up your vehicle completely and this means changing spark plugs, checking its wires, cleaning the throttle body, sensors and IAC valve, replacing air and fuel filters as well as the timing belt, synchronizing the distribution system, calibrating the starting time and even checking the fuel pump pressure. With this maintainance, all your problems will be solved.

Hi there. Try getting your inner cv joint checked. If it shaking under hard speed. Thats the cause of it. Youll notice that specially when going uphill and you accelrating. Inner cv joint is the issue. Got mine fixed last year with this issue. Replaced the inner cv joint and was good as gold

What's inner CV and where is it located?

High fuel consumption SolvedSolved

Volkswagen Vento 1997  180000 miles
Buddies, please help me. My vehicle has got an extremely high fuel consumption, around 4 km per liter. It was scanned but no error was indicated. The failure appeared after I replaced the cylinder head gasket. What might have happened? I've already changed spark plugs, wires and even the rotor, but nothing got better.

Hi, joyce, by your diagnosis, it might be a low quality fuel problem. If it is so, use up what you've got and fuel the car with vi power diesel or premium diesel. Another possibility is that there is an electronic problem and you need to make an electric check: flowmeter or EGR valve. Hope it helps.

Vento 2014 model oil mixed my coolant tank what can we do?

Typically, it would be due to a damage of the head gasket. For Diesel models, it could happen due to a seal failure in the oil cooler.

Display turns on and off

Volkswagen Vento 2006  87000 miles
Hi, I hope you can help me. The display on the middle of the dashboard turns off and on every now and then, as if there was a loose wire or something like that. I have no idea which are the wires that need to be checked.

I wanted to share that I was finally told that the display was damaged and that was the reason why it worked intermittently. I had to buy an old-line dashboard, remove the one I had and install the one I bought. It was necessary to reprogramme the dashboard with the memory and other stuff it brings. The other option I had was taking out the display from the bought dashboard and install it, but it was quite risky the manipulation of the fragile elements. Hope my experience helps someone else in the future.

Run out of battery

Volkswagen Vento 2009  84000 miles
Hi, I have a Vento and it run out of battery in the garage. What can I do? I was told that something might break down when connecting it with wires to another car. If I want to start the engine, can it be pushed? What is the most convenient thing to do in this case? Thanks.

Dunk from United States 9 years ago
Hello, you can give electricity with another car, nothing will happen. You simply need to be careful and keep the key on the turned off position on both cars when the wires are connected. The RED wire goes in the positive terminals of both cars and the BLACK wire goes in the negative terminals. After connecting them, start the car that has the charged battery, wait until the idle speed stabilizes and then start the other car. Once it started, remove one by one the wires and pay attention that the terminals do not make contact or touch the bodywork. Maintain the vehicle which had the failure turned on for around 20 minutes, until it recovers. Do this with the lights turned off. Hope it helps you.
Dunk from United States 9 years ago
If there is not enough space for two cars, you need a charged battery. You then connect the wires as mentioned before and activate the key to start the car.

Parking system and phone function failures

Volkswagen Vento 2012  45000 miles
Good night, everyone. This afternoon, the lights of my car were left turned on and so, when I wanted to start it later, the battery charge was depleted. I took advantage of the garage's slope, set the reverse and managed to start the engine. After driving for a while, I noticed that, even though the parking system works, the car figure does not appear on the touch screen. The phone function does not appear either, while all the other functions are working properly. I hope someone can help me solve this problem.

Steering buzzing

Volkswagen Vento 2010  91000 miles
Hi, it's been a year since I bought my car and, recently, I've noticed that the steering buzzes or makes a sound similar to a turbine. It is also quite heavy. If I am not wrong the steering is electric and not hydraulic, and so steering fluid might be added to it.

Hello, it can be that the wheel hub bearing is not properly fixed. Check both of them. If it is failing, you will need to change both the wheel hub and the bearing because they come together depending on the model.

Steering and one touch system stopped working

Volkswagen Vento 2007  100000 miles
Hello, once I finished changing the control arm bushings and a bellows from the constant-velocity joint, I started the car and the red steering light appeared on the dashboard. Also, the front windows' one touch system was not working any more. Before I decided to change those pieces the car was working perfectly. I would be very glad if you could give me a helping hand.

If you removed the steering ends hitting them, the most probable thing is that you broke the sensor from the power steering column. You don't need to change the whole steering, which is really expensive; you can try replacing the sensor and your problem should be solved.

Hello, I finally solved my problem. I had to change the steering rack and the failure disappeared. Thanks for your comment anyway.

Lubrication light on uphill or downhill roads

Volkswagen Vento 1998  106000 miles
When taking uphill or downhill roads at 2000-2500 rpm, the lubrication light and alarm turn on. I've already changed the oil pump, but the problem remains. They only turn off if I suddenly accelerate hardly at more than 2500 rpm. The oil and filters are new. What might be the failure if the scanner does not indicate anything?

The only way to solve it is by modifying the ECU with the vag-com. You can change many things from there, but only with the computer.
