They can be identified with a number that states the maximum current they can withhold. Once this current is surpassed (due to an overload or a short-circuit), the fuse breaks down and interrupts the flow of the current. The location and function of each fuse is stated in the owner's manual of the car or in the plastic lid of the fuse box.
I am trying to hardwire a dash cam. I know which are my ACCs and constant fuses (don’t laugh at my diagram)!, but don’t know what they correspond to as no diagram on the panel or in the manual. Sceptical about various online diagrams as all models are different eg I don’t have cruise control or heated seats…. VW were less than helpful unless I paid them a pretty penny. Anyone got anything official or found a reliable source of info?
