Preheating light failure

Renault Kangoo 2007  130000 miles
The preheating light turns off and then appears again when starting. When this happens, the vehicle starts working in an unusual way, because it does not accelerate. I need to turn it off and place the key in the ignition for a second time, wait until the preheating light disappears and only then it starts normally, and the light does not appear again. I always need to start the engine twice.

Hi, Corny21, I recently bought a Clio diesel 1.9 and, when a similar failure appeared, I noticed that the preheating spark plugs were all burnt. The solution to my problem was to remove the conection from the timer and send electrical current through a pushbutton. When cold or warm, the engine starts without a problem. Hope it helps you.

Hello, your problem is the rotor from the injection pump. A reparation kit is sold, which consists of a packing ring to supplement the pump needle and a tool to remove the needle. After replacing the packing ring, do not forget to purge the injectors and then start it.

Heaters indicator and acceleration failures

Renault Kangoo 2008  135000 miles
When starting my car in the morning, once the heaters indicator tuns off, the engine starts failing: it works irregularly and, no matter how hard I press the accelerator, it does not speed up and the heaters indicator turns on again. As soon as this failure started appearing, I replaced the heaters, but everything remained the same way. This happened for the first time two years ago, and I was told it was the electronic pump from the injection pump. I repaired it and the car started working properly. Even though I take a lot of care of my vehicle, the accelerator has started failing again a few days ago. The failure also appears during the day when turning the engine off for a long period of time. Can anyone help me please? Thank you!

Hi, elysia, it is the fuel pump. You need to take it to a mechanic specialized in that topic.

This happened to me two years ago and it was a relay that was failing. I replaced it myself and the failure has not appeared again. Good luck!

Does not start

Renault Kangoo 2005  134000 miles
My car does not start working and the preheating indicator light blinks on the dashboard. I've already changed the spark plugs and the throttle body, but nothing was solved. The computer and the immobilizer were checked, but it is still not starting. What can I do?

Glow plug light can blink to indicate a fuel issue also check your fuel pump is working. Check injectors also check your fuel filter if your not good with servicing and you run the car on cheap
Fuel the filter could be blocked. Also check the fuel hoses for leaks or signs of air getting into the fuel
System. Place a piece of clear pipe on the fuel system to check for air and fuel flow. Also check your ignition and starter motors are working and your imobilisor isn’t kicking in. Maybe worth starting with a decent diagnostic scan to point you in the right direction. Could also be fuel pressure regulator. Hope this helps you.

If no faults are found on the ecu or the device doesn’t communicate with the ecu the it may be your ecu or a compression issue with your engine. A leak down test on the engine would determine a compression issue regards Andy

Mine has the same problem as above on starting. The only way I can get it started is to pump the gas when turning the ignition on. Have had loads checked, not the immobiliser, have had plugs done as well. Also cuts out in stopping and staring alot through town. What else could be wrong with it?

Light on the dashboard

Renault Kangoo 2005  5000 miles
Suddenly, a light appears on the dashboard indicating an ignition preheating. The vehicle starts smoking and it is left without acceleration. I need to turn the engine off and start it again, and the light then disappears.

Your Kangoo must have an electric injection pump called Epic, which is the normal failure in these cars. The problem is the injection pump's solenoid, which causes the preheating indicator light to turn on and the vehicle to start failing.

Starting failure

Renault Kangoo 2008  110000 miles
I insert the key in the ignition and the key detection light turns off. When turning the key, the heating curl appears and the engine turns and turns, but it does not start.

I had the same problem and it is quite probable that the chip in the key has broken down; check it. I do not recommend you to take it to a Renault agency because they take too long to repair it; search on the Internet for another place that copies keys

I also had this problem and, if I were you, I would first try with the spare key. If the failure appears as well, it is the anti-theft system. There is no fuel reaching it and you will need to break the iron structure and connect it directly, or else buy a new piece. Good luck.

Engine noise, jerks and acceleration failure

Renault Kangoo 2009  100000 miles
Hello! I own a Kangoo 1.9 diesel 2009 and it has started failing. Especially when driving on a highway at 50 mph or so, and reducing the speed, the engine makes a strange noise, the vehicle jerks and the accelerator does not respond. The curl indicator light and the heaters indicator appear on the dashboard. What I do in those cases is to stop the engine and start it immediately after; even though it starts, after a few miles, the failure appears once more. Two days ago I changed the pump, but the problem persists. What might be happening? Thanks.

I recommend you to check if the catalytic converter is blocked. Good luck.
