Transmission failure

Mitsubishi Eclipse 1997  16654 miles
I own an Eclipse 97 std and an annoying noise can be heard, as if it were a clutch bearing that is failing. Once I clutch, it disappears. I've already changed the transmission and clutch compressor but the noise persists. Is it that I need to adjust something? Or what is causing this noise? Thanks.

If the transmission is not shifting properly and the neutral light is flashing when the car first starts, there could be a problem with the transmission itself or with a component related to the transmission.
Here are a few things you can try:

Check the transmission fluid level. Low transmission fluid can cause the gears to become stuck or not engage properly.
Check the transmission filter. A clogged or dirty transmission filter can restrict the flow of transmission fluid and cause the gears to become stuck or not engage properly.
Check the transmission linkage. The linkage connects the transmission to the shifter and can become damaged or disconnected, causing the transmission to become stuck in a specific gear.
Check the transmission control module (TCM). The TCM is responsible for controlling the transmission and can malfunction, causing the transmission to become stuck in a specific gear.
If you are unable to identify the source of the problem or if the issue persists after checking these components, I recommend having a mechanic diagnose and repair the issue to ensure that the problem is properly addressed and the vehicle is safe to drive.

Speeds are not shown on the dashboard

Mitsubishi Eclipse 2006  111111 miles
I turned my car off when I arrived home and, some hours later, when starting the engine again, it did not indicate P, N nor D. The Check engine and airbag lights turned on and, when driving it, gears could not be made. What can be wrong? Is it the speed or the gear sensor? Could you please help me?

It is the transmission speed sensor that is failing.

Automatic transmission failure

Mitsubishi Eclipse 2003  140678 miles
I have an Eclipse 03 gts and, when driving and gearing continuously, at the third or fourth gear, it feels as if the transmission got stuck. It then suddenly releases and there is no problem gearing after that.

Hello, the problem is in the valve or solenoid driver. You need to change the TPS and it will be solved.

Car shifts but won't drive

Mitsubishi Eclipse 2004 Eclipse gs 133000 miles
So I had to do an entire engine swap got everything put together everything went fine car starts, runs beautifully but it will shift and you can hear the transmission shifting but the car won't go anywhere checked all the lines checked all the connectors nothing seems to be affected I don't know what could be causing this. Wheels move when lifted, also is able to be pushed when it's in reverse gear, which I know shouldn't be able to be done. Tires don't spin when in drive or reverse while lifted and gas is applied. What am I missing?

Transmissions

Mitsubishi Eclipse 2004 Gs 2.4 automatic hatchback  150000 miles
Transmission slips in and out of gear in reverse or drive only when I first start it. I can crank it up put it in reverse without touching the gas and it will push me for a second and stop push for a second and stop, does the same thing in drive too well after it does it about 20 times it will stay in gear and I’ll be able to drive it anywhere i want without slipping or jerking or the entire time it’s like when it warms up it’s completely fine. There’s no check engine light on and if I’m on the interstate doing 70 75 with the rpms right at 3000 I can bump the shifter into neutral and let off t… Read complete

Mitsubishi Eclipse 1991  130000 miles
Hi, I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse 91 and its problem is that, when starting it in the morning, I need to let it warm up for at least 40 minutes, otherwise I cannot change the gears. I would appreciate anyone's help.
