Does not accelerate, Check indicator

Kia Sorento 2004  150000 miles
My car's failure presented after a day of intense rain. When starting the engine, I found the car quite accelerated, at 1200 rpm, when the usual revolutions at idle speed are around 800 per minute. Even more, the Check indicator was turned on and the O/D light was flashing on the dashboard. I decided to start driving anyway as I needed to go somewhere nearby, and thinking it would normalize. Has your problem been solved? The same has been happening to me for two days.

Hello, Ford. My problem has been solved luckily. The car was left in the parking so that it dried and, after three days of the rain, it started working and everything was normal, the acceleration was working properly again. The only thing was that the Check indicator remained on. I started driving anyway and, after a while, the light turned off and nothing strange has occurred since then. My conclusion from this experience is that a sensor must have got wet and started failing and the car entered an emergency state. When I scan it, I will know which code error was stored. Hope it helps.

Buddy, it is the TPS sensor that is failing. It is the one that measures the position of the throttle body when pressing the accelerator. When the TPS sensor fails, the O/D light turns on and the vehicle does not accelerate.

Kia not starting

Kia Sorento 2006 kia sorento 6cyl 218000 miles
Went to crank it up and wont start. All the lights and radio work there is a rapid clicking sound when the key is turned. Could this be the starter or is there a starter solenoid, the battery is 4yrs old.

My Kia sportage will NOT run on humid mornings? WHY?

Sounds like a solenoid issue. Some vehicles have the solenoid mounted under the hood, others have them attached directly to the starter.
