Car won't Start, No crank, no click SolvedSolved

Honda CR-V 2003 EX 2.4L 226000 miles
Replaced battery. Ran for a 2 days then no start. The mechanic added metal caps to my battery posts as clamps were loose. It fixed the problem for 2 weeks. Problem returned. Jumped car with cables reversed. Cleaned corrosion on the red battery cable. Worked for another week. Then it just stopped cranking completely. Tested battery good/holding charge. Replaced the starter & ignition switch. Checked ignition fuse & engine compartment fuses are okay. Any suggestions?

Also recently had my 4wd/awd real time automatic 99 honda crv towed in gear on a dolly and now having major issues with drive system/emergency brakes/ and shifting gears. Am worried they wrecked the transmission and underbody braking system. Engine makes lots of bad noises, clunks, weak idle, misfire, stalling, etc. when a/c is on. If a/c off it idles fairly well. Was able to do a ecu/ecm reset today but, even before the reset, it's not throwing any codes and check engine or maintenance required lights don't stay on. Best guess of one mechanic was idle control valve/tps/o2 sensors, etc. Not sure what to do next. Have wheels rotated and balanced? Replace rear differential fluid? Had fuel drained and oil change last week, made no difference. Fuel, fuel injector, fuel line? What next? Please help, thanks. I've had this car for 20 years and it's never acted up so bad before the new battery I got put in backwards eight months ago, and then a tow by the city while I was out of town. They were working on the road and needed to move it and had no key to put it in neutral. Also, they thought it was a fwd, not a 4wd/awd real time. So, yeah, it's been a real drag!

Sorry to hear of your troubles! First thing is do not panic or assume the worst. Focus on your biggest issue with the car first.

Sounds like you already know the Honda owners manual says to never tow your car with a dolly. Always use a car carrier to prevent damage. I had to insist on this on several occasions with my insurance company who sent the wrong tow truck the first time and offered to do it again.

I've noticed some strange sounds when the a/c is on my 03 Honda CRV. It could be that your a/c condensor is going out. Does it blow cool air? Check all your hoses in the engine compartment to see if there is a crack that could be starving your engine of air. Has your air filter been replaced? There is one in the engine compartment. Have you checked/replaced your spark plugs? Ever had your valves adjusted? If so, that is critically needed.
I am not an expert so I can't offer extensive help. Hope you find a solution soon.

I discovered thru diagnostics of the starter relay pinholes in the fuse box under the dash that after replacing a new relay it had to be my new starter was bad. Sure enough, swapped it out for another new one and everything is fine!

Thanks for reply...I checked everything you mentioned and it's fine when the car is in neutral; soon as I put it into drive or reverse all hell brakes loose...I've narrowed it down to the braking system, the fuel line, and/or the gear box in the transmission. Having it towed next week so mechanic can check out underbody brakes, sensors, idle air control valve, etc.

Will also check the starter relay pinholes as you suggested; maybe that's it.

Fuse no power

Honda CR-V 2000 Crv 200000 miles
Crank no start issue. While checking all the fuses in the secondary little fuse box with the pump motor relay and abs fuse stuff one of those fuses is not getting power I switched it out and the fuse works in other places but part that's down in there it doesn't turn on when I use my test light like all of the others does. Could this be an issue as to why it won't start? I have no idea
