Problem 2015 Accord LX 4dr

Honda Accord 2015 LX Sedan 2.4L CVT
While idling down the street , i noticed that the tachometer indicated an rpm of less than 500. I depressed the accelerator to move forward and had no response. The accelerator was then depressed all the way to the floor with still no response. The accelerator was the letup all of the way and depressed again and the engine speeded up as normal. This same problem was experienced in a 2013 honda that we just traded in for the same problem that existed for the two years that we owned it. This could be a dangerous situation if it occurred in heavy traffic or on a freeway. Honda says that these are the only two vehicles that have ever been reported with this kind of problem. Please enter this as a potentially serious traffic problem .

Problem 2009 Accord EX 4dr 5A

Honda Accord 2009 EX Sedan 2.4L 5A 15440 miles
On two occasions in the last six months, my 2009 honda accord experienced what i would describe as unintended acceleration while operating the vehicle at a low speed (first time turning on to a road; second time accelerating while attempting to park the vehicle). The engine surged with power and nearly redlined the tachometer. Each case i shifted to neutral to disable the drive train and then shut down the car; waited five minutes and restarted the car. I scanned the ntsb data base to look for similar reporting but found none. I bought this car used, in 2014, from a honda dealership, with only… Read complete

Issues Accord EX-L CVT 2.4L

Honda Accord 2013 EX-L Sedan 2.4L CVT
When car has been sitting for a long period (overnight or during the day while at work) the cvt transmission initially does not engage. The tachometer shows increased engine revs but the car barely moves. After ~ 30 seconds transmission starts to work normally. This happens intermittently (~ 3 - 4 times per month). Dealer could not reproduce problem (not surprising given frequency of occurrence) and claims there is no problem whatsoever. I'm concerned about the reliability of the transmission and whether this problem will manifest itself in a more dangerous situation. *js

2012 Accord 2.4L problems

Honda Accord 2012 LX Sedan 2.4L 5A 500 miles
Incident date: 12/05/2011, 5:45pm weather/road condition: good, no rain/snow, normal traffic pattern summary: accord 2012 lx had a sudden engine rev for about a couple of seconds and went back to normal without driver intervention. Minor gas pedal vibration noticed for first 500 miles during break-in. Details: i was driving accord 2012 lx on a local main street at about 20 to 25 mph, entering a normal small slope. I suddenly heard louder engine noise, and noticed tachometer going up from below 2k to 3k rpm quickly. At the same time, i felt gas pedal was moving away from my right foot. E… Read complete

Problems 2009 Accord EX-L 5A 6cyl

Honda Accord 2009 EX-L V-6 Coupe 3.5L 5A
What happens when a light on the instrument panel comes on or goes off? you look at it - taking your eyes off the road. The 'eco' light (notification of cylinder deactivation feature being dis/activated) located just below the tachometer regularly comes on and off causing a distraction. Asked multiple dealers, they have no way of disabling this distracting light. At first, i figured i would be accustomed to the light going on and off all the time; having had the car for 9+ months it still annoys me. I have no issue with the eco feature, just the stupid, distracting light. *tr
