No start code P060A, P1659

Honda Accord 2008  145000 miles
I’m having problem with my 2008 Honda Accord 2.4 coupe. The car has been sitting for a month after changing bad injectors and fuel pump. I tried to start the car and it wouldn’t start. I got a code for P060A and P1659 with a flashing green immobilizer light after several failed start attempts. I’m going to change the battery but need help as to why it won’t start and it’s giving me those codes.

This post may be an old post, but I figured I'd post my findings in case anyone is still fighting the good fight.
My vehicle:
2008 Honda Accord 2.4L EX-L
Codes: P062f p060a p2610 p2118

Hard starting when cold or sitting for over 25 min. Otherwise would start fine and drive fine with no issues until next start.
Process:
Replaced battery, no change
Sent Pcm (ecu) for repair/service. ECU came back with no errors or damage found. No change. Replaced throttle body, no change. Cleaned map and maf sensors, no change. (This fixed issue for someone so figured I would inspect. )
Replaced FTP, code went away, but no change.
*Note: During idle, I noticed a minimal sputter. Almost not audible.

Researched more, and one person mentioned they changed the spark plugs and that fixed their car.
So, I produce a list of all possible fuel/Ignition related possibilities for hard start/idle sputter.
Spark plugs
Ignition coils
Injectors
Fuel pump

As for me, I replaced the fuel injectors, ignition coils, and fuel pump about 2 years ago. And due to covid my car was almost not driven for the last 2 years. So, I removed them as possibilities for me. That left spark plugs.

I bought some NGK iridium plugs and replaced them. Old plugs were worn. (See pictures). This resolved my issues. No more cell lights, hard start, or idle sputter.

Definitely do your due diligence, but I'd say definitely go in this direction if your symptoms sound like mine did.
Good luck, everyone.

Vehicle stalls during driving, sometimes it won't start, engine light

Honda Accord 2009 2.4L EX-L 261000 miles
Vehicle has 261,000. It shows very erratic behaviour. - Sometimes it won't start. - Sometimes it will start and run but it later stalls and engine will shut off while driving; the immobilizer light [green key] comes on blinking when car stalls, but then it disappears once the key is turned to 0 and then car will start again. - It shows an engine light which disappears all of the sudden just to re-appear later on. The codes are always P060A and P1659. - It just recently started showing also other codes, such as: P0498, P2118, P062F, P2610, and P2118. - I have replaced almost every relay an… Read complete

Main relay under the left side of the dash is interconnected with the Immobilizer system and the relay from Honda is a well known issue as it can heat up which causes the solder to crack causing the relay to eventually fail and in the meantime behave erratically. Seriously, everything that has happened to you guys has happened to me, including it cutting off while I was doing 8 in the fast lane surrounded by rush hour traffic and nearly died wrestling the no longer power steering wheel to the shoulder. Waiting 10 sometimes works but I’m not really buying into that because I read on a forum post about the relay problem and that in the meantime you can try smacking the cover of the fuse box with the faulty relay inside. It located under the dashboard and actually on the side wall of the car. You have to remove the panel under the steering column to get access to that specific box, it is not the regular box on the right side imbedded into the center of the dashboard where all of the control fuse for lights and crap are. I’ve been employing the foot tap method for 5 straight days, in the heat (because it seems to be worse and will start less if it’s hot outside) and it works every single time. I feel like Fonzie. I’m sure there’s more to it than that but regardless, I need my car to start as well as to not endanger my life by cutting off everything whilst exceeding the speed limit so I don’t get run over by my fellow drivers, because California, and all I can say is that as silly as it sounds, it’s effective in employing some sort of og magic and raising my temperamental ride from the recently dead.

Hi,can you please send a picture of this relay and location, or the part number? I have the SAME issues with my 2008 Accord and have stuck so many parts and money into it already and I am about to give up. Please help. Thank you :)
Valaraukar68 from United States 6 months ago
@mnldianI’m unable to get to my car atm but my magic spot, and it is a spot, not an area, is under the driver side dash but on the side wall on the left right up where the two meet. I just lift my foot and flick it against the cover there and bang! every time! Still! I know it’s hinky, but it works after a year’s worth of wrong information and advice, and I’m confident that eventually whatever is wrong with the relay(the crap factory soldering is supposed to be the main culprit) will get worse and I’ll have to replace it, or it could something completely different. All I know is some mechanic mentioned it in YouTube video and I gave it a try without hope in my heart as I had been let down repeatedly, only to have it work then and always, so far. I am and anyone else who tries it should be aware and paying attention all the time while driving because it can still cut out, but only has once and I put the car in neutral and restarted it immediately after a quick tap with my foot, but for a second there I was wrassling with a 2K automobile, in traffic and without power and most importantly, power steering, but all’s well that ends well.
mnldian from United States 6 months ago
@Valaraukar68I will take a look, just wondering what relay it might be. Thank you.
Valaraukar68 from United States 6 months ago
@mnldianIt’s the main relay, and you can google the diagram for your particular Honda. Mine is a ‘98, so things may be in a different place inside the cabin.
Carl from United States 5 months ago
@mnldianPart number 25033 fuel pump relay, this is the only relay you will have NO issues with, the only one that has been working for years, before this I changed 3 different fuel pump relays on my Honda 2008

I heard it’s the starter it might make sense since the computer sends the power to it and some how it kicks back to it causing many codes and issues to the computer but once charging the starter if doesn’t changes the best advice is to get rid of that car and never buy a Honda ever again!!!!
