Issues 2011 Honda Accord EX V-6 4dr 6cyl 5A

Honda Accord 2011 EX V-6 Sedan 3.5L 5A
This is the honda accord 2011 ex (v6) model. When moving at very slow speeds, say around 2-4 mph, there sometimes is a flat spot, ie no acceleration when stepping on the accelerator pedal. , at this point there seems to be a 2 to 3 second hesitation before the care suddenly accelerates and lurches forward. Sometime, when this situation occurs, nothing happens when pressing the accelerator; then the accelerator must be completely released and pressed again, or pumped, to get moving and at some point power suddenly returns and the car lurches forward. This problem seems to occur most often whe… Read complete

Hi, Melly. I had the same problem and the cause was located in the engine's belts. There are two of them, a huge and a little one, check over there.

Hey possible can you send me the picture of it ? I have changed many sensors even cleaned the VTEC sensor but nothing working I have same issue and it dint work for me my car runs perfectly just doesn't go above 3k RPM and if I remove the battery wire and out it back then engine light goes off for few minutes and it rivs above 3k but then again I see engine light on please guide me
Matt from United States a year ago
@YahyaThere is two separate screens one on the vtec in the back of the motor and one behind the belt tensioner that could be clogged as well. People tend to clean the easy one but they forget about the hard one. That would set off the same code as give the same symptoms as the vtec.

2012 Accord 6cyl fix

Honda Accord 2012 EX-L V-6 Sedan 3.5L 5A
This is an intermittent recurring issue with the vehicle. When making a slow speed turn, typically accelerating from a traffic light or stop sign, the engine will not respond to the accelerator being depressed. This occurs if i have to lift off of the accelerator and reapply pressure, due to traffic slowing around turns or other driving conditions that necessitate lifting off of the gas pedal and then stepping on it the problem has not happened when going straight, only on turns. There have been times where this has proven to be unnerving and potentially dangerous as there were vehicles approa… Read complete

What you need is the EPS or Pedal Position Sensor. It's the actual pedal assembly. Since these cars are "fly by wire" there is no push/pull cable it's all electric now.

Ok awesome thank you the dealership that's closest to me has been of no help at all but I actually got it towed down to where I bought the car originally and their going through the entire car for me since it's still under warranty and I did mention that peddle assembly to them so im glad I was correct about assuming that's what it was haha well see in a day or so when they call me what they all did but thank you for your quick reply I really appreciate it! I’m having somewhat of the same problem with my car is a 2012 Honda accord 2.4L at first it was the actuator after that it gave me another problem the car wouldn’t go past 40mph and slowly sped up and wouldn’t turn on all the times, took it to a mechanic said it was the computer he swapped it it was running great for 2 or 3 days then it started failing again but this time it wouldn’t turn on at all. He said that the new computer he put don’t work no more.

Immediately, the vehicle bumper crumpled, the left side of the hood crumpled, and the passenger side air bag activated. My daughter was driving her 2008 Honda Accord, she hit a tree, fence and flipped the car resulting in it hitting another tree and the drivers airbag never deployed. She died in the car accident and Honda takes no responsibility for this. If you seen her car you wouldn’t believe the air bag didn’t deploy- all the other airbags did but not hers. I even had the coroner say she had no signs of airbag deployment to her body and her injuries were consistent with no airbag deployed. The police report and first responders stated no airbag deployment yet Honda takes no responsibility for it. Just makes me wonder how many more lives will be lost before they own this and make it a recall.

Problems 2015 Accord

Honda Accord 2015
Intermittently, but always upon acceleration (could be pulling onto the highway from a stopped position, merging/speeding up to get on the highway or pass another vehicle, or starting to move when the light turns green) the car will fall flat with no power. It doesn't stall, just doesn't respond to the gas pedal. Most times, happens in second gear. Releasing the gas pedal and then pressing it again most times resolves the problem. Sometimes, it takes a few tries. This is a very dangerous problem, and i have had many motorists swerve around me or blow the horn at me because i can't get the car moving fast enough. I just spent $30,000 on this new car, and the dealership cannot duplicate the problem so they're sending me on my way with a vehicle that's a potential death trap.

This same problem was experienced in a 2013 honda that we just traded in for the same problem that existed for the two years that we owned it. Problem 2014 Accord

Honda Accord 2014
5/1/2014hesitation (unexpected acceleration) occurs intermittently at low speed. When the car is at a low speed and more power is needed and the accelerator is pressed there is no response initially; accelerator is then pressed more and the car then accelerates much more than was expected, resulting in a jerky, on/off type action. I believe this could cause an accident either when trying to merge into traffic or when trying to accelerate gently and having the car accelerate more than expected (in a parking lot or heavy slow traffic etc).
