Engine light on the dashboard

Fiat Uno 2005  398000 miles
The engine light appears on the dashboard. My Fiat Uno was scanned and the error codes that were indicated were: p0331 coil 1 p0325 knock sensor U1600 electronic key. The errors were removed but the light keeps turning on. What can I do?

Hi, russell. It is useless to remove the errors because the real problem remains. You need to check the spark plugs wires because, when they fail, they cause the check engine alarm to activate. They might be causing the coils failure that was indicated. But the coils can be failing themselves as well, because they only last for a certain amount of time. If they are old, you will need to replace them. When a knock sensor code appears, it does not always indicate that this sensor is failing. The knock sensor is located in the engine block, under the intake manifold. Check if its central pin is well adjusted and if its wire or connector is properly fastened. This sensor might be detecting a pistons' noise or jingle, and that is why the engine failure indicator (check) turns on. This failure appears when the distribution system and its timing belt are damaged. You need to do the indicated revisions to correct this failures and, only then, remove the errors with the scanner. I want to point out that the scanner does not indicate mechanic failures, like the case of the distribution system; it only detects electronic damages. But, when the engine is failing because of a distribution's lack of synchronization, all the sensor fail without having themselves an actual failure.

Dunk thank you so much for your help. I am sure it will help me solve my problem with my Uno Fire. No one had been able to explain this to me before; thanks again!
